Two months had passed since Queen Cersei's defeat and the fall of Kings Landing.
Many builders and stone masons had slaved away rebuilding small parts of the once great Kings Landing. It was slow grueling work, fighting against the snows. Tamina had tried to use the powers the Gods gave her but she could not keep Winter from coming. No matter how hard she tried.
She had created a council that consisted of Ser Davos, Mance, Cane, and surprisingly Ser Bronn of the Blackwater, mainly for his knowledge of the city. Ser Davos took charge of looking over the poorer citizens. Cane became the Captain of the Guard to keep the peace but the people were restless.
Tamina sat at the table drifting in and out of the conversation in front of her. The men were arguing over the state of the city.
"The people are angry, confused as to what comes next," Ser Davos said,
They need a ruler, the whole monarchy has been blown to bits" Mance replied,
"They shit themselves every time they see the dead men" Bronn added,
Cane turned to Tamina, rousing her from her thoughts,
"Now that parts of the city have been rebuilt, it may be time to address the people," He said softly.
"And what would we tell them? I am as lost as you are in all of this, the Gods haven't exactly given me instructions as to what I am meant to do" She replied abruptly.
"Winning was easy. Holding power is the hard part" Davos spoke up.
"I'm not the true ruler of this land, they lived in turmoil for so long they cannot see the difference between someone who wants to help and a tyrant" She sighed.
"Then who is meant to rule?" Mance asked.
"I-I do not know" She stumbled. Tamina looked out towards the window, seeing the snow falling harder, it seemed to be affected when her mood soured.
"I think that will be all for now, we will reconvene soon, we will continue the builds and feeding the people what we can" Tamina spoke without a second look and took her leave from the council table.

The snow had fallen heavy the night before. The garden reminded Tamina of the Weirwood from home, it was peaceful and no one was around to ask her questions about what was next.
Tamina trudged through the snow, dropped to her knees, and threw her face into her hands. The tears finally fell after a long time of keeping them in. She did not have the answers the people needed.
"What was this all for?" She cried out to nothing. She looked up at the cloudy sky. "I did everything that was asked of me, I defeated the tyrant. I freed the people. Who am I waiting for? Who is the true heir to the Iron Throne?" She cried and cried until there were no tears left.
"Tamina?" A voice whispered.
Tamina looked up, her vision was blurred and her face red.
Cane stood at the entrance to the gate, he quickly moved to help her to her feet.
"Oh Tamina," He said, taking her into his arms. "What has this done to you?".
"My father was right, I am weak. I should have never ruled, I should have never left home. I should have never been brought into this worl-"
"No!" He silenced her, pulling her away from his embrace. "Now you listen to me, you have never been weak. You were born to rule, you are kind and just. This, all of this is bigger than anything we could have ever imagined, this is not your fight, it never was" He cried, the tears in his eyes daring to fall.
"I feel as if I have lost myself but I know that this is where I am meant to be I just do not know why" She sniffed, wiping the cold tears from her cheeks.
"I am here, I will always be here, you're not alone in this" He cradled her in his arms, giving her a small smile.
"Thank you, Brother".

Another day, another pile of shit to shift through Ed thought as he watched what remained of the Night's Watch try and rebuild after the battles.
A sound carried over the wind, a single blast of a horn. Something Ed thought he would not hear again.
A ranger had returned.
Ed took men down the dark tunnel again, the last time he was down here, he came across the late Eddard Stark's son Bran, he had long left to go home to Winterfell and now he was down here again to see who the ranger was that was approaching the gate that was hastily put up.
When they reached the end of the tunnel, three people stood waiting for them. Two in black and one in blood red.
One figure threw back his hood and Jon Snow stood before the men of the Night's Watch. Ed's eyes widened.
"Hello, my friend" Jon smiled.
"You son of a bitch" was all Ed said before bringing his brother into an embrace.
"How are you alive? Ed looked at Jon with wonder.
"A long story, Ed" Jon chuckled.
"Well you can tell it over a drink, I have a few stories myself" he laughed, and he turned to lead the way back through the tunnel.
Jon turned to his Uncle, the smile falling from his face.
"This is as far as I can go, my boy. There is magic in the Wall that keeps me from going any further" Benjen said, gazing up at the vast structure.
"No" Melisandra suddenly spoke up as she reached out and touched the remains of the ice wall. "The magic has been lifted from this place now, I felt it when I first arrived at Castle Black but now I feel nothing," she said, gathering up her skirts and taking her leave, down the tunnel.
Benjen stared at the darkness where Melisandra had disappeared. He shot Jon a smile before following. Jon took a breath, wondering what had happened in his time away from the Wall and what stories Ed was about to tell.
Jon wondered, What force was so powerful to make it so the magic was gone from the Wall now?
