The story starts from the auction of Oberoi Mansion (after Bhavya and Rudra's engagement).

I've never liked how the Kalyani Mills mystery reveal had been so anticlimactic. Especially because one of the consistent villains was so hell bent on revenge due to her father's death in the KM fire. As well Svetlana's line of "Yeh ishqbaazi nafratbaazi mein badal jayegi!" could've been a great set up for conflicts and drama regarding Annika's past. It would've been ironic that the very reason Shivaay took so long to accept Annika (NKK) was something she didn't have due to his own family...... and I mean more than Roop. Also Roop's speech about the fact that she was shunned while Tej could do as he pleased with no consequences is another driving factor for this story.
