"Here you go!"
"Thank you so much!" The child smiled as Mimmi handed her the stuffed dolphin.
"You're very welcome," Mimmi smiled back. She stood up straight and straightened up the toy cart as the little girl padded off. Several months have passed since the whole water dragon ordeal, and Mimmi and Zac were really happy to finally have Narissa back.
Mermaids were still a secret, though the pod did warm up to the idea about going on land, but they were still really cautious about it.
Nothing eventful really happened over the past few months, which the gang thought was really strange, but it was a relief nonetheless.
As Mimmi's shift began to end, she pondered over what has happened already and what the future might possibly bring. The sound of dolphin clicks suddenly broke her out of her thoughts, 'I really think you will like Mimmi. She's just like you.' the dolphin had said, from what she understood anyway.
Confused, Mimmi walked towards the sound, towards the dolphin pool. A young lady, who appeared to be in her early 20s, was crouching down beside the dolphin, and talking to it.
Mimmi gently approached her. "Hey! You shouldn't be here."
The girl jumped. She turned around as she stood up and faced the mermaid. That's when Mimmi noticed she wore a uniform. "Oh sorry," the girl apologized. "My shift finished early. I wanted to check out the new dolphin."
Mimmi chuckled. "I should be the one apologizing. I didn't realize you worked here."
"That's quite alright," the girl smiled. "Hey, I haven't seen you around here before. Are you new?"
Mimmi shook her head. "Actually I have been working here for a couple months. What about you?"
"I've been working here for several years now," the other girl shrugged. "I actually work over in this area."
"Oh, cool!" Exclaimed Mimmi. "I just sell souvenirs. By the way, I'm Mimmi!" She held out her hand.
"I'm Cleo!" She shook Mimmi's hand.
Mimmi glanced over at the dolphin swimming around and chirping. "So, what are you doing over here?"
"I wanted to check on the new dolphin. Just rescued a few days ago. I think she's doing really well," Cleo smiled.
Mimmi hummed as she knelt down beside the pool. The dolphin swam up to her. 'Hey, Mimmi!' it chirped. 'How are you?'
"Yeah, I know this dolphin," Mimmi responded to Cleo. Then she giggled. "I'm doing really well," she said to the dolphin."What about you?"
'Great! I just met Cleo!'
Mimmi laughed. Cleo started, puzzled. As soon as Mimmi, realized Cleo was still there, she cleared her throat and stood up.
The dolphin's clicks sounded like laughter as she slapped the surface of the water with her tail, sending a huge wave of water down on the two girls.
Cleo's face grew into a look of horror. Mimmi's did too. "I-I'm so sorry, I gotta go," she said in a rush.
Cleo nodded with the same feeling of urgency. "Same here."
Both girls made a bee-line for the exit of the dolphin pool. Mimmi rushed into the nearest bathroom, followed by Cleo shortly after.
Said dolphin trainer's eyes went wide as soon as she entered. "Mimmi!?!"
"Cleo!?!" Mimmi shared that same look of shock.
No one had time to say anything else as Mimmi and Cleo both lost their balance and fell to the floor as their legs disappeared and they gained a shiny orange tail and matching top instead.
