I hate cutting wood. It is the worse thing ever. Well maybe not the worse.

I held the axe sitting on a log. My head was still pounding but it wasn't as bad as it was in the morning. Brian has been smirking at me all morning and I hate him for it.

"What?" I said annoyed.

"Nothing," he said but the stupid smirk was laced on his face. His blue eyes showed nothing but mischief. "How was the wedding?"

Brian was the few that knew I went to the wedding. Everyone in the town knows I am friends with Marlowe, however, they also know that I don't go to the parties, but this time I did. Only Brian and my parents know about it.

I shrug. "It sucked."

"Come on, there has to be more to it. Is she pretty?" He hummed out.

"What?" I said looking at him confused.

"Nymeria," he said.

I threw a cloth at him and looked around if anyone heard that. But Brian and I were alone in the woods. People can't know about how much Nymeria means to me. "Brian," I scolded.

He chuckled. "Just answer."

I gave him an annoyed look. "She was very pretty."

"Thats my boy!" Brian said and stood up. He shoved my shoulder playfully. "I say you have a chance."

I rolled my eyes and shook my head standing back up. "I don't. She most likely is looking for someone like a prince, or maybe already a king. Talk of the town is that she is with Lord Adelio."

Brian shrugged. "Maybe they won't allow it."

I shrugged this time. "Who knows. They hide whatever they want to hide."

I grabbed a log and started chopping them in half. Brian and I went into complete silence. All that can be heard is the cutting of wood, the animals running around in the forest that we were next to. People were heard talking from afar. I was so focused on cutting wood, I didn't notice notice people approaching us.

"Rhory," Brian whispered.

I hummed and grabbed another wood to chop it in half.

"Rhory," Brian whispered again and this time he shoved me.

"What?" I answered annoyed.

Brian made a gesture to look over. I frowned and turned around seeing Marlowe and Nymeria standing near us. Marlowe had a smirk on his face, when does he not. Nymeria had a soft smile on her face.

I froze for a second then bowed my head immediately. I heard Brian chuckling behind me. I faced him giving him an annoyed face. I stood up straight and smiled. "Hello."

Marlowe walked up to me. "Hi," he said and messed my hair up.

I pulled away and fixed my hair. I cleared my throat and held onto the axe tightly. This was awkward.

Brian smiled at them. "Hello, is it alright if I ask what led you two here?"

I noticed the glint of slight love in Marlowe's eyes while he was looking at Brian. My heart clenched worriedly. I warned Marlowe that he was married and still chased after Brian. My jaw clenched and I looked at Nymeria. We made eye contact and I smiled.

"We were just helping out around town. Marlowe wanted to know if you two needed any help," Nymeria said looking away from me to Brian.

Brian chuckled and shook his head. "We are fine. We do not need any help."
