When I'm away from you, I'm happier than ever
Wish I could explain it better
I wish it wasn't true

- Billie Eillish

Sanji has been acting strange lately, he doesn't seem to care about marriage anymore, or at least, that's what it seems like to Zoro. He missed, only heaven knows how much he missed Sanji... His Sanji from the beginning of his marriage. Now they seemed like two strangers, he came home late and barely spoke to him. Zoro knew that Sanji wasn't cheating on him, but it's not like that was the only problem that existed in relationships, or else it would be very easy to fix. The problem is that Zoro didn't know how to approach the subject, the intimacy they had to talk about any subject had been cut off for a long time. Recently, when Zoro tried to talk to Sanji, Sanji rolled his eyes claiming that his husband was saying trivial things.

"Trying to fix this shit, is it something trivial, Sanji? When you lose me, don't say I didn't try. As much as I could."

The truth is that Sanji really needed some time, he didn't know what was happening to his own body and mind! He wasn't even able to love himself, he was going through some difficulties in his mind, he didn't want to worry Zoro, but with that, he pushed him away, in fact, nothing, absolutely nothing, was a reason to treat people rudely.

Zoro was remembering the day Sanji proposed to him.

...

"It would be an honor to have you as my husband." That's what he said. Zoro couldn't be happier. That was by far the happiest day in all the years of dating the blond man.

Sanji arrived early in the morning, as expected. Zoro sighed and turned over in bed and pretended to be asleep. The youngest lay down next to him and closed his eyes to sleep.

Sanji started to caress Zoro's hair, he got scared but remained as he was.

He cut off contact with the green-haired man.

"I did not want it to be like this." He thought.

Zoro tried to get closer after that night, but Sanji continued as he was

- Sanji! - Zoro shouted. - You don't have to go through all this alone, we promised at our wedding. But if that's what you want. I will respect you. Respect you far away from here.

Sanji was surprised by the older man's speech.

In a week it would be a month since Zoro had moved into a flat, Sanji realized that trying to deal with what was happening alone was worse. But even worse when he didn't have Zoro in bed to smell him.

"I'll see him tomorrow." Zoro thought with his heart beating quickly. "Let's get on with the fucking divorce. I haven't seen him in so long, is he okay?"

The next day arrived, they would still see how they would talk and make the agreement that best favored both of them.

- Good afternoon, Zoro. - Sanji said.

- Good afternoon. - Zoro was happy, Sanji seemed happy and even healthier. Maybe the problem was himself.

- You don't really want this, Zoro. - Sanji started nervously.

- Why do you say that?

- Because you know that I love you, and that it is an honor for me to have you as my husband.

Zoro's heart warmed, that was his weakness, Sanji knew. He knew how much he loved that phrase, what it meant to him. But he wouldn't let that put him off. It was a low blow to say that, having said and done what he did.

- I love you too, Sanji. - Sanji's eyes shone. -But it doesn't change what you did.

Soon Sanji's blue eyes seemed lifeless.

He knew it was his fault, so he wouldn't interfere with anything else.

- Actually, Sanji... We can give ourselves a chance... If we go back to how it was before. If you tell me what was happening, and if you promise that you will always tell me what you are really feeling. You don't have to go through difficult times alone.

Sanji gave a wide smile.

- That's why I say it's an honor to have you as my husband, Zoro.

They moved back in together, the first week they were just talking. Sanji didn't want to have the experience of losing Zoro again.

The blond said that he started to think that he didn't feel like he was enough for Zoro, he tried to stay away so that Zoro could have his time away from him, as that was what he thought was best for the other. He followed his friend Robin's advice to seek help from psychologists and that's what he did. It was helping a lot!

- We all have psychological problems lately, love. You don't have to go through this alone, as I said before. Don't believe so much in what your mind tells you.

- Thanks. - Sanji hugged Zoro and gave him a kiss on his forehead.

- You are welcome. Thank you for seeking help, we will be fine. After all, Sanji, the honor is all mine to be able to call you my husband.

A/n: I also sabotage myself, like Sanji, thinking that people don't like me, and if I stay away from them, everything will get better. It's sad. We have to talk to people, especially in relationships, and whoever can, seek psychological help!
