Twilight's POV

"Good morning, Yor," I said as I watched the black-haired woman escape from her bedroom. "Morning," she yawned, her long hair tangled in a mess. "Sleep well last night?" I asked. She nodded, even though it was clear as how nested her hair was.

She joined me in the kitchen to get a glass of water. "Tea?" I asked. She nodded as she set her cup on the counter. I smiled and started the water. Yor went back to her room and Anya came out of hers. "Good morning, Papa," she yawned. "Good morning, Anya. Go wash up and get changed, I'll have breakfast ready soon," I said. "Okie dokie," she said groggily.

This fake family had only existed within Operation Strix for about a year and a half and Anya had picked up on Yor's sleepy habits. I chuckled at the thought as I began making breakfast for my so called family.

"Hey, Loid! Why don't we take Anya to school together today? I start later than usual today," Yor beamed. I smiled as I put plates onto the table. "That sounds wonderful," I said. We ate our breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen.

"Anya! Grab your things, let's go!" I shouted from the front door, Bond pawing at my feet. "You have to stay here, Bond," I said as he quickly pranced to the television to lay down. Once the three of us were ready, we left. We dropped Anya off at school and walked towards City Hall.

"Hey, Loid?" Yor asked, not looking at me at all. "Yes?" I asked. "W-Why don't we have Franky watch Anya tonight. L-Like so we can go for dinner! T-That's all!" She said in complete embarrassment. "That sounds wonderful. I'll talk to him later today and make the plans," I smiled. She returned a warm smile as she waved, walking to the doors of City Hall. I made my way to the hospital to speak with Franky.

"Nuh-uh! No way! Find a real babysitter, man!" He screamed. "Franky, I will give you money to take her to an amusement park, please...and keep it down!" I scolded. "This is the last time, and I mean it!" He growled. I pulled a sizable stack of cash from my pocket and gave it to him.

"Tsk. You really think you can just buy my services? You'll pay," he groaned. "I just did. We're leaving at 5, you better have Anya out of the house at 6 until 7:30." I said before starting down the hall. "What? You and the missus going to the bedroom tonight?" He smirked. I turned my head and glared. "I'm messing with you," he said, even though he obviously wasn't.

The idea of Yor and I being 'in the bedroom' together crashed through my mind. Faking being in love was one thing, being intimate? Even as a spy, it made my heart skip a beat. I shook the thought away before walking to my office. I studied the paperwork on my desk that belonged to an additional mission.

I really need to talk to Handler about all of this extra work. I thought to myself with a sigh.

Not long passed before my shift ended. I walked to City Hall to wait for Yor before leaving to pick up Anya. Anya held Yor's hand as I walked next to them. "Anya, Franky is going to take you out to the amusement park tonight," I said. "Yay! Where are Mama and Papa going?" She asked. "We're just getting some dinner tonight," Yor smiled. Anya took a pause in her step before turning to me. "Are you and Mama flirting?" She asked. The words Franky said earlier floated back in. "No," I said before walking ahead, my face feeling hot.

I had been losing my touch.

We got home and Franky was already there waiting. "You're early," I said as Anya ran in to greet Bond. "Yeah yeah. I figured if anything it might let me get home earlier," he sighed. I went to my bedroom and got changed into something nicer. I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed before walking out the door. "Yor? You ready?" I called from the hall. "I am!" She said.

She was radiant. Stunning. Glowing. The wine red dress she wore flowed down to the middle of her knees. She kept her black hair down, which was a fairly rare occurrence. "Is everything ok, Loid?" She blushed. Shit. I hadn't noticed I was staring. "Yes, sorry. Just like what happened when I met you. Your beauty caught my eye," I said. What the hell, Twilight!? What are you saying!? Franky threw a suspicious look to me. "We're leaving. Be good, Anya," I announced. She was too distracted by her silly spy show. I sighed and held the door open for Yor.

We sat at the restaurant, waiting for our food to arrive. "So, Yor, how has work been? How is Yuri? Even though we live together, it feels as if we hardly know each other," I chuckled a little. "Oh! It's been well, not much has changed. Yuri is still, well, Yuri," she said, sipping at her wine. "I see. Well, if I may suggest something for later, maybe try and stay with a little wine tonight?" I asked. "Okay, I'll try my best," she beamed.

...

After dinner, we went for a walk in a nearby park. I offered her a seat at the park bench. "Listen, Yor? Can I request something?" I asked. "Sure, what's wrong?" She asked. "Nothing is wrong at all. Really. I just wanted to see if we could do this more often," I said. I didn't want to ask that but the other question doesn't feel appropriate right now. Who knows how sober she is. "That sounds great, Loid," she smiled.

I think it needs to happen. No. I know it needs to happen, and it needs to happen now.

I got up, Yor following my lead. "Let's head home," I smiled.

...

We got home and both changed. I took a deep breath. I knocked on her door. She opened it, a brush in her hand. "Hey, Loid. Everything ok?" She asked. I nodded. "May I come in?" I asked. She nodded and sat down on her bed. She pat the bed, offering me a seat. I sat next to her as she set her brush down.

"I know this may be a big thing for you. Apologies," I began with as I reached into the pockets of my sweatpants. I took a box out and placed my hand atop of hers. "Yor, I want to continue to be your husband. Your real spouse. I know Anya wants you to continue being her mother. Yor, would you accept my hand in marriage? A real marriage?" I asked, looking into her ruby eyes that were now watering. She looked down at the ring, that had a brilliant diamond in the middle, small leaves of ruby wrapping around the ring like a vine.

Her mouth creeped itself into a smile. "Yes...Yes, I will!" She exclaimed. I smiled and placed the ring on her finger. "Can I hug you?" She asked. I nodded and before I knew it, she was wrapped around me. She came at me with such force, we both ended up laying on her bed. She didn't seem to mind. I don't think I did either.

I knew what I was doing. Handler and Franky would be pissed. I didn't care. If I got fired from W.I.S.E then so be it. I felt love. There were plenty of other jobs out there. Maybe I didn't need to be a spy anymore. I could be Loid Forger for the rest of my life, and someday I would tell Yor. I would tell her I don't know my birth name and that I was a spy. That would be another days concern.

...

"Wake up, you."

Franky? I opened my eyes. I was still in Yor's bed? Shit. Yor was still laying in my arms. We had fallen asleep. "Franky I-" He grabbed my shirt and dragged me to my room. "What the hell is that, Twilight?! Cuddling with your fake wife?? You're losing your mind!" He shouted.

"I proposed."

"Don't tell me-"

"She said yes."
