"Rough day?" Boss looked up to see Net smirking at him. Boss' irritated expression made a point when Net chuckled nervously. "What about what I told you before? Have you considered it?"
"Working with the clinic?" Net nodded. "I don't know. I met him, Dr Peat yesterday,"
"Nothing?"
"He's on a rush, so I don't want to bother him," Boss ran his fingers through his hair. Net watched, amused.
"Are you trying your bad boy model look?" he teased after Boss stopped indulging his hair. "Because I swear you would get signed in lightning speed,"
"Shut up!" Boss punched Net lightly on the shoulder as Net laughed his ass off. "I don't want to be a model, it's hard work,"
"You should. James did it and got good money,"
"No." Boss shook his head stubbornly. He had first hand encounter with the industry when he accompanied Noeul for any photo shoot before, he hated it. Noeul loves the attention but Boss was otherwise quite reserved.
"Maybe you haven't found any good agency yet,"
"Maybe no," Boss looked at his own feet. He met a lot of agencies with Noeul of course, but no one batted an eyelid for him. They even told Noeul that Boss was not a good look on him, and somehow there's a fight when Noeul told Boss that he didn't want him to be with him at work. Net nodded, feeling a sudden glum appeared around his best colleague at work and he didn't want to upset Boss more.
Apparently, Boss had been this way since that particular fire that broke out around the apartment. Firefighters usually had some kind of trance after saving people in any catastrophic event but they got over it fairly quickly. Boss was not an exception either, he usually bounces back immediately.
"Are you having some mid life crisis?" Net asked again after a long moment of silence. Boss shrugged, and sighed. "Okay, anything just tell me,"
"I won't." Boss mumbled and Net laughed. "You would nag me all day long,"
"That's what friends do!" Boss rolled his eyes and shook his head. "Just like..."
There was a knock on the door and both turned abruptly. Net already stood up, while Boss sitting, legs splattered casually. Their supervisor peeked in, looking all serious.
"Boss." He called out and Boss nodded, correcting his posture. "There's someone here to see you,"
"Who is it?" Boss stood up to approach his supervisor. His supervisor gestured for Boss to follow him. Boss exchanged glances with Net before he trailed behind his superior. Boss didn't think much of any punishment, but he knew he wouldn't get any because he had been good, he was even on his best behaviour instead this particular week even though it was...
The door opened and the first person he saw was the blonde hair guy, with those killer eyes.
Nouel.
He stopped in his track.
His superior glanced back, and his shoulders hunched a bit before he went on.
"He's here to see you," Noeul stood up when he saw Boss approaching. Boss backed a bit, but he was determined to not let his emotions ran the situation. Boss knew Noeul was a stubborn man, apparently the most persistent person he ever met. He proved it today.
"Thank you, officer. It's just that I'm very grateful that day that I wanted to see the person who saved me face to face again,"
Boss didn't say a word. His clenched fist was inside his trousers pocket. His superior nodded, and scratched the back of his head.
