Mikey's movements were fluid, each swing of his wooden training sword executed with precision and imbued with magic. A sharp wave of energy burst forth with every stroke, slicing through the air with visible force.

The night of the attack on his village, the night Mystra had descended from the heavens to save him, remained etched in Mikey's memory. Initially, gratitude filled his heart for the goddess who had spared him from death's embrace, yet his soul was restless, yearning to discover the fate of his brother. The hope that Y/n had survived the skeletal terror was a beacon that guided his every thought.

When Mystra delivered the crushing news of Y/n's supposed demise, Mikey's world crumbled. The loss, profound and paralyzing, anchored him to Mystra's side, where he sought solace in the teachings she offered. Training under her watchful eye, Mikey delved into the arcane arts, uncovering the latent power that coursed through his veins—a legacy of his bloodline's magical heritage.

Mystra revealed to him the depth of his potential, explaining that his lineage was steeped in sorcery, his inherent magic potent and waiting to be mastered. Under her guidance, Mikey honed his abilities, the bond between pupil and mentor strengthening with each lesson.

As Mikey unleashed another magical wave toward his target, it met an unexpected resistance and was dispersed. Standing before him was Bromir, his second teacher, a formidable figure who had taken up the mantle of refining Mikey's combat skills.

"You're showing real improvement," Bromir acknowledged, a hint of pride in his voice.

"Do you think I'll ever reach Gale's level?" Mikey ventured, a mix of hope and curiosity in his question.

"With dedication, undoubtedly," Bromir assured him, then suggested a pause in their training. "I'm famished, and there are supplies we need from Daggerford. I need you and Valeria to make the trip."

Mikey raised an eyebrow. "I'm not just your errand runner, you know."

Bromir laughed, unfazed. "Consider it part of your training. Besides, I've left some coin with Valeria for the errand—and a bit extra for you two to enjoy yourselves." He picked up his bottle of liquor from a shelf, signaling the end of the discussion.
