The Beginning of War

Ok I know I said a week or so but I got sidetracked and also wound up adding to it without further ado here's the second longest one yet... I'm still not great at making them extra long, but I promise to keep trying to make them longer.

"Ok, I think we should get our focus back in gear."

Marco says with a bit of guilt for triggering his sun and causing a flashback.

"Does anyone have anything they want to ask about, regarding any of this?"

The commanders share an uncertain glance, but Marco wants to lessen the tension, so they go with the topic change.

"If you don't mind me asking. What happened at the war of the best?"

Vista questioned cautiously.

Marco and Izo grimaced, shooting a sad and painful look at their captain.

"A lot happened, unfortunately. And none of it was good."

"Start from the beginning, my son's. We should share everything the navy pulled in case something similar should happen in the future."

While the two commanders knew their father was right, that didn't stop the twin growls that they released, before Izo let out a huff and decided to start them off after sharing a look with Marco and Oyaji.

"It started with the announcement that Ace was going to be executed."

The sixteenth commander started.

There was dead silence as the others processed those words before Thatch exploded.

"WHAT?!"

The others weren't much better with their reactions either. Half of the commanders were shocked, and the other half were outraged at the Navy's audacity.

"The Navy wanted a war so they could get rid of pops once and for all. And they succeeded yoi."

Marco said with a grimace, as he shifted further into Edward's lap to remind himself that the emperor was still there, they still had a chance to stop it from coming to pass.

Even Izo was scowling in distaste. While Luffy simply looked to be somewhere else.

His eyes were sad and distant as he recalled how powerless he was back then.

Izo let out a sound of annoyance as he continued.

"Tch, even sent patrol ships to deal with us, they didn't stand a chance. After that, we coated the Moby Dick and the mini-Mobys and sunk under the sea to hide and sneak close to Navy HQ."

Marco continued where he left off.

"They had about 10,000 navy soldiers and 50 ships with cannons lining the coastline. At this point, only five warlords remained. Ace was stationed in the very back with the three admirals sitting directly below him acting as guards, yoi."

"What happened to the other two? Who were the five left?"

Blemco asked with a frown.

Marco sent Luffy an amused look as Edward laughed while Izo told the others with a chuckle.

"Luffy here took out Crocodile right after leaving the east blue, and the other one was Jimbei because he refused to fight Oyaji."

The rest of the commanders were staring at Luffy slack-jawed.

"They were broadcasting the entire thing too..."

Luffy added quietly, getting confused looks from the other commanders.
