"Okay Uncle, I'm going to pass my extensive dating knowledge onto you. Now, I know you've not done this for quite some time but don't worry I've got you" North said with a smile as he draped his arm across Alan's shoulder.

"You need to remember that men are complex beings. And Jeff, well, he's another kettle of fish altogether" he added

Alan furrowed his brow "Oi, North. Don't talk about Jeff like that"

North shook his head, " No no no. I don't mean that in a bad way. The thing is, Jeff, well he doesn't say a lot so you know, it's harder to know what he wants. But fear not, I have some ideas"

Alan was beginning to regret asking North for advice.

"So first off. Play hard to get" North continued.

Alan interrupted him "North, what are you talking about? How can I play hard to get what I'm already...got?"

North waved his hand in front of Alan's face, "Hmm, see you gave it all up too fast. You need to make him work a little. So.."

Babe had been watching this whole exchange from his spot on the leather sofa, directly opposite the two clueless men.

"P'Alan. Why are you asking this idiot for advice? Huh?"

Alan dropped his head into his hands, "Because it's our first Valentine's day together. And, you know, it's my first Valentine's with someone for..well....a while"

Both Babe and North chuckled.

Alan stood up exasperated, "I don't know why I'm even talking to either one of you. North, when have you ever dated anyone? Huh? And Babe, you're hardly going to win Mr Romantic of the Year award!"

North stood still, his mouth agape. Babe began to defend himself, "Huh? I'll have you know I am in contention for that very accolade. I can be very romantic. Right Charlie?" He raised his voice as he shouted over to Charlie who was in the middle of a race simulation.

"Not a chance P'Babe. Remember Alan's picnic? That was romantic. Buying flavoured lube is not romantic. Fun, but not romantic"

Babe smiled awkwardly "Over share, Charlie. Over share!" He shouted

Alan could hardly stop from laughing, "God Babe! Honestly you two are helpless. I think I'm going to figure this one out on my own, 'cause it seems I'm doing a hell of a lot better than you guys!" he continued to laugh as he walked back to his office.

He sighed as he sat down in his desk chair, tapping his fingers lightly on the cool wood of the desk. Humming to himself, he flipped open his laptop and began to type into the search bar

Romantic First Valentine's Dates

Tentatively, he scrolled down the resulting list. Would you believe it? Flavoured lube was on there. He shook his head, half laughing. There were some good ideas there but he didn't think they were right for Jeff. What to do?, he thought. Just then his office door opened and in walked Jeff. Slamming the laptop lid closed Alan stood up and smiled, guiltily.

Jeff noticed Alan's awkwardness "You okay Lung?" He asked.

"Yes. Of course. Never better. Now you're here" Alan said with a smile.

Jeff nodded slowly, "Okay. The delivery of that new engine is here, they want you to go sign some papers".

Alan walked around his desk toward where Jeff was standing, "Ah fantastic, thanks Nu", he placed a kiss on Jeff's cheek as he walked out of the door.

Lung was acting a little strange, Jeff thought. But then he always acts a little strange around me. He laughed. I wonder what he was doing? He closed that laptop pretty sharply. Jeff wandered around to Alan's desk, plopping himself down in the chair. He thought for a moment before lifting the lid.

He smiled as he saw the search page. "Oh Lung" he muttered as a smile swept across his lips.
