"Hey brother"

Babe's voice startled Jeff. He stood up sharply, banging his head on the hood of the race car he was currently working on. He reached his hand up and rubbed the sore spot.

"Sorry about that" added Babe as he put his arm around Jeff's shoulder.

Jeff wasn't sure what was happening, he looked at Babe suspiciously.

"Let's go have a chat" Babe said as he led Jeff out of the workshop and into the yard, sitting him down on the picnic bench.

"What have you done this time?" Jeff asked, exasperation in his voice

Babe flung his arms out to the side "Why are you assuming I've done something?"

Jeff raised an eyebrow.

"Okay fine" Babe continued, "Fair assumption, usually. But this time you're wrong. I actually wanted to talk to you about Valentine's Day"

"Oh god" Jeff muttered under his breath

Babe shuffled in his seat "Between you and me, Lung isn't that experienced with relationships"

Jeff interrupted, "that makes two of us"

"Touché" Babe replied, taking a pause before continuing to speak. "Look, Alan is like a brother to me, you know? I don't want to spoil anything but let's just say he's putting some serious effort into this Valentine's Day"

Jeff was curious now. He'd had no luck finding out anything about Alan's plans himself.

"Really?" He said

Babe nodded "Yeah. I just wanted to kind of warn you. You know don't be too disappointed because, like I said, he's not used to doing this kind of thing"

Jeff thought for a moment. Was Alan feeling pressure to arrange something? Should he go and talk to him? He didn't want to make it awkward though.

His thoughts were interrupted by Babe's voice "Okay look Jeff. I'm going to help you out, you're Charlie's brother after all" he paused and edged closer to Jeff, "Lube"

Jeff stuttered "I'm sorry, what?"

"Lube, Jeff. Go and get some lube, the best present you can give your man. Trust me"

Jeff didn't trust him.

"They do all different flavours, mint, strawberry, tropical, the list is endless"

Jeff didn't know what to say. He sat staring at Babe, frozen in the awful moment. How did he get into such an unwanted conversation, listening to his brother's boyfriend give him advice on sexual lubricant? He stood up, primed to make his escape.

"Where are you going?" Babe asked as he pushed Jeff back into the seat by his shoulders.

"Look I'm a little more experienced than you so trust me here. The key to a successful sexual relationship is lube. Obviously it allows for a smoother penetration and with the variety of products on the market, it's fun too. Charlie jokes but I know he secretly loves the tingling one and I bet Alan would love it if you ...."

Jeff jumped up from the bench "Okay I'm going, good talk Babe. Let's never mention this again. Ever"

Babe watched in confusion as Jeff walked hurriedly back toward the garage.

"Where are you going Jeff?" Babe called after him

"To throw up"
