                    KNOCK-KNOCK

"Mm..who is it?" I asked. My eyes still closed.

"Good morning, young miss.  Breakfast is ready, your daddy wanted you to join him." Henrietta said behind the door.

"Tell him I'll be down in a minute. I'll just wash my face." I replied.

After a few minutes I went downstairs to join my father to the breakfast table. I saw him sitting comfortably in his seat, drinking his coffee while shuffling something in his tablet. He didn't even see me approaching.

"Good morning, daddy." I kissed his cheeks surprising him.

"Oh,good morning my princess! Did you sleep well?" He asked and I nodded. I don't want to tell him that I find it hard and uncomfortable to sleep last night because I don't want him to worry.

"By the way, dad. Gail called me last night." I said to him and that's where I got his attention.

"Gail? Your troublemaker friend in highschool?" He raised a brow and I chuckled.

"Come on,dad. You still call her that?" I laughed.

"And why wouldn't I? It's the first time in my life that my princess has disobeyed me!" He said heartfeltly.

"Oh my god, daddy! That was a long time ago, and it was even for school purposes." I argued.

I can't believe he still remembered the time that I lied to him because I wanted to join the music club and I lied everytime he asked me why I was home late because of the after school practice.

"Hmpf!" He pouted.

"Daddy! You're too old to be pouting!" I reprimanded him jokingly.

"Oh, alright! And what did you talk about?" He asked. And I told him about last night.

  ------------------------------------------------------

"Oh, that's good news. So you're going to meet her later?"He asked.

"Yep! I'll just take the Porsche." I replied while eating my breakfast.

"Mm.. I trust you. You're old enough to drive safely." He warned me.

"I know that. I got my licence last year. I'm now a certified driver." I proudly said.

"Remember, the roads here are not like the province,Toniette." He scoffed. He's being serious if he said my name.

"Don't worry, dad. I've got the MAPA. (Referring to SB19's song) Huwag mag alala, ipikit ang iyong mata. (Don't worry, Just close your eyes.)" I teased causing him to choke in his coffee.

"WHY WOULD YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES!?" He shouted while wiping his lips.

"It was a part of the song, dad. Relax!" I laughed. He glared at me.

"Behave while driving,Toniette! I haven't forgotten your reckless driving in the province when you were 18!you almost killed yourself there!" Dad scolded me.

"It was a race. And I won." I proudly said again causing him to glare at me AGAIN.

"You-! Argh! What would I do with you?! You're 23 now and you're still doing reckless things." Dad said.

"What!? No I didn't! For the last 5 years I haven't been in trouble." I defended myself.

"Not yet." He mumbled. And I just shrugged.
