The Truth

Andy's POV:

The next morning, I woke up with an uneasy feeling. ~I wonder if she really meant what she said last night. Did she mean it when she said that she would come with me? Is she going to show up? Or is she gonna ditch last minute? ~ I decide to text her anyways.

Andy: Hey, just checking in. Are you still planning on coming with me tonight?

It takes her a while to respond, but eventually she does.

Juno: Yes.

~So, she's still not up for conversation, got it. ~ I spend the majority of the day worrying and pacing around the house. My mother watches me, clearly concerned. Eventually she walks up and stops me.

"Hey Andy, are you alright? You've been acting very strange lately."

"I'm fine mom."

"Are you sure? Because you seem pretty worked up about something. Do you want to talk about it?"

"Mom, just drop it okay. I'm going out and I won't be back for a couple days."

"Andy, you can't do that. You can't just leave without any warning."

"Well, I'm 18 so it's not really up to you. I'll be back in time for school on Monday." She sighs and shakes her head in defeat. "Okay then. Just don't get yourself in trouble."

"I won't" ~Hopefully...~

I grab the envelope and shove it into my backpack. Before long the sun begins to set signaling that it's time for me to leave.

"I'm heading out!"

"Goodbye, be safe, okay? I love you."

"Love you too."

With that, I grab my Mom's car keys and head out the door. ~She's going to be so pissed at me for taking the car this weekend, oh well at least she's off of work for the next few days.~

Juno's POV:

I'm lying in bed, anxiously staring up at the ceiling. All I can think about is what could happen tonight. What could this person have to say? Are they dangerous? Are we going to get hurt? What if something happens to Andy?? He might be able to handle himself but what about me?...~Oh god why did I agree to this?!?! I feel like I'm gonna have a panic attack!!~ Just as I'm trying to calm myself down, my phone vibrates.

Andy: Hey, are you ready?

My breath catches in my throat as I read the message. ~What the fuck am I supposed to do?? Tell him that I've changed my mind?? Fuck...he'll be here any minute and he'll probably kill me if I cancel now. Okay deep breaths, just calm down. It'll all be fine; he won't hurt you. Besides, he promised he would keep you safe. Ughhh I hate this so much!!~ I sigh heavily as I type my response.

Juno: Yeah.

A couple minutes later he's outside of my house. I walk out to the car, the cold air instantly making my body shiver. I get in on the passenger side and I see Andy sitting in the driver's seat. We exchange an awkward glance before looking away from each other.

"Alright, ready to go?" he asks.

"Yup, let's just get this over with."

He puts the car in reverse, and we head off.

"How far away is this place again?"

"Well, we should be getting close, the GPS said it would only take about an hour and a half."

We sat in silence for a while, neither one of us really knowing what to say. After a few minutes of this I feel the urge to fill the void with a conversation.
