Smooth Criminal - Micheal Jackson♪

Mary sprinted toward the bus, her heart pounding in her chest. As she reached the entrance, she called out to the driver, "Close the doors! Close them now!" The driver, slightly startled, pressed a button, and the doors hissed shut behind her.

Breathing heavily, Mary looked up, her stomach dropping as she spotted a monstrous figure hovering ominously above the bus. Its wings spread wide, casting a shadow over the vehicle, and she felt a rush of fear wash over her. Just as she was about to yell "monster!" she remembered that only demigods could see it. Panic coursed through her veins.

Suddenly, she caught sight of Percy, Grover, and Annabeth making a daring escape, leaping through the bus windows in a flurry of limbs and determination. The creature turned its gaze toward her, its eyes narrowing in malevolent delight. Mary's breath caught in her throat, and she froze, unable to move.

Percy, glancing back, noticed her hesitation. Without a second thought, he sprinted over, scooping her up and tossing her over his shoulder. Just as he was about to leap from the bus, he tripped over his own leg, tumbling to the ground. Mary yelped as she landed hard on her back, the breath knocked out of her.

The monster let out a deafening screech as it released its grip on the bus and ascended into the sky, its wings flapping with terrifying power. "Where are you, Percy Jackson?" it called, its voice echoing like thunder.

Mary and Percy scrambled to their feet, their eyes glued to the creature above them. "We have to go!" Mary shouted, adrenaline fueling her urgency. She waited impatiently for Percy to regain his balance, then they both bolted into the cover of the nearby forest, heartbeats racing.

Once they were deep among the trees, Mary took a moment to catch her breath. "Okay, first of all, I'm wanted for theft, and now we're being hunted by a flying piece of crap!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands up in frustration.

Percy, still a little dazed, looked at her with wide eyes. "Can we please call Camp Half-Blood?" he whined, glancing nervously over his shoulder.

Annabeth, adjusting her grip on her weapon, shook her head firmly. "No, we can't call," she replied, her tone sharp.

"Why not?" Percy asked, his impatience bubbling over.

"Just... no," Annabeth insisted, her brow furrowed as she scanned their surroundings.

"Why aren't you answering my question?" Percy stopped in his tracks, frustration etched on his face.

"Why—aren't—we—going—back—to—camp?" he reiterated, emphasizing each word as he tried to make sense of the chaos.

"Grover, please help your friend," Annabeth said, exasperated, turning to their satyr companion.

Grover looked between them, his eyes wide. "I'm not getting involved in this," he said, holding his hands up defensively.

"No no no,Why do you always bring Grover into this?" Percy shot back, exasperation spilling over as Annabeth paused, realizing they were losing focus.

Mary shook her head, trying to contain a laugh despite the tension. "Focus, guys! We need a plan or we'll end up lost and probably died."

Annabeth, her brow furrowed, turned sharply to Mary. "Wait, when did you get into this?" she asked, incredulity threading through her tone.

Mary blinked, momentarily taken aback. "What do you mean?" she replied, confusion etching her features.

"Why are you butting into the situation?" Annabeth pressed, crossing her arms defiantly.

"First of all, I'm trying to break the tension because we're all about to freak out," Mary said, her hands gesturing with frustration. "Second of all, I'm here to help. We can't afford to fall apart now."
