Bus rides were the worst, everyone was cramped into a vehicle, talking over each other. Hinata was looking out the window, trees passing by, clouds moving along and cars passing by occasionally. The training camp in Tokyo ended a few hours ago and the Karasuno Volleyball Club was sitting in their bus, driving back to Miyagi. Everyone has improved their skills and made new friends among the other teams. Hinata has spent most of his free time training or hanging out with Kenma, Lev and sometimes even Inuoka. All three of them are from Nekoma.
There was faint snoring, some talking and even some music playing in the background. All being ignored by Hinata, who just enjoyed the landscape as they were driving. He always had a wild imagination, even now he was only focusing on the tiny man outside, doing some form of parkour over the trees, trying to keep up with the bus Hinata was sitting in. He was always imagining things like this during longer car or bus rides. It helped keep his mind off of things like upcoming matches or just in general stressful things in his life.
This kept going until the bus came to a stop, the tiny man vanished and Hinata got sent back to reality.
Takeda-sensei stood up, telling the team that they were finally back in Miyagi at their school.
Everyone got out of the bus, stretching a bit before going to the back of the bus to retrieve their bags and other things. Hinata was the last to get his stuff, bidding his goodbyes to everyone. He walked over to his bicycle that was parked close by, getting on it and cycling back home. Up the hill, back down into the little village where he lived. It wasn't too far from Karasuno, only around 45 minutes away with his bike, which was manageable for him.
Biking up the hill after a long trip surely wasn't such a good feeling, but he still enjoyed it nonetheless. The little man from the bus ride was back, jumping over the trees to try and keep up with Hinata.
This is what he liked about long rides, letting his imagination run free. Nobody can stop him.
Catching his breath as he got off his bike, he moved it to the front of the garage, before he entered the house.
"I'm home!" He softly yelled once he entered through the front door, not sure who was home but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Quiet, no one answered from his usually loud family. And then, finally he got an answer.
"Shouyou, honey would you please come to the kitchen? We need to talk about something." His mother answered, her usually joyful voice turned into a serious one.
Taking off his shoes and jacket, putting his bag down next to his shoes, he went over to the kitchen where he was met by his mother's sad expression and his father's serious face.
"What is it you wanted to talk about mom? Dad?" Hinata asked carefully.
"Shouyou, we're moving. Me and your father are getting a divorce. You're staying with me. Since Natsu has been accepted into a very good private school, she would need to stay here. The two of us will be moving to Hyogo. Shouyou, please pack your bags."
What? He's moving away? To Hyogo?
"But what about my school? Or my volleyball team? I can't just abandon them!" He was furious, sad, exhausted. Anything but happy.
"I'm sorry Shouyou." His father said, it was the first thing he said and it was an apology. To say the least, Hinata was angry, he wasn't sure at what.
His mother wanted to say something but she never did. She only closed her mouth again, looking down at the floor. Unsure of what she should do.
Hinata didn't say anything else, he went and grabbed his bag before going to his room. He didn't want to hear anything else from his parents.
Empty. His room was almost completely empty. His bed was empty, his desk and all of the shelves. His closet was empty too. His mother has apparently already packed all of his clothes and the most important things. All that was missing were his own personal things.
