Oh shit, it is already Saturday, I thought to myself whenever I woke up.
I went downstairs and saw my parents.
Good morning, mom and dad! I said.
Good morning, Buddy. My father said:
What the hell, hearing my dad be nice to me is still weird.
I am going to take a shower before we eat breakfast, okay.
Okay, they both replied.
While I was in the shower, I was still confused as to why my father had been acting nice to me since he met Ashton at the soccer game.
After I finished showering, I went upstairs to my room to change into comfortable clothes because today was my free day and rest day from sports and workouts, so I could spend time with my family.
When I came downstairs for breakfast, my father asked me how school has been since he is been an absent father and has been working a lot.
I told him well. This year, I am taking mostly AP and Honors classes.
Holy shit kid, what classes?
Ap English, hn pre calculus, ap biology, cp history of organized crime, and ap psychology. I told him.
"Damn, you are really smart, right?" he asked.
I know I told him.
Good because you are truly a good kid, and I am so sorry for the way I treated you for most of your life. You do not deserve a father like me, I know.
Dad I said.
Yes, he asked.
I am just glad you are trying to do better.
Thank you, and no, I do not expect you to forgive me right away; it could take years, which is understandable, and you are the victim, and I am the bad guy.
My mother and I said, "It will be okay, we will get through this as a family."
Yes, we will, and that is why I will be going to therapy and rehab later, dad said.
Wait for what I said.
Your father has his first therapy session today at 5:30, so
Oh, okay, I replied.
I really want to get better for you and your mother," he said.
Dad asked, "What are you currently studying in psychology?"
Not sure yet. We took a test yesterday, and I think I did pretty well on it, but I really enjoy that class.
Mom and dad probably asked, "What are you most excited to learn in that class?"
I am interested in personality disorders, disabilities, trauma, and other related topics.
