Slowly, fire spirit's eyes flutter open.
He blinks a few times to clear his vision. The room is dressed in darkness, with only a faint glow from the moon shining through the window.
He rubs his eyes and sits up, feeling the soft sheets and blankets tangled around him.
As he takes in his surroundings, his gaze falls upon a small stuffed animal lying next to him on the bed. It's a greenish-red dragon with big, round Boba eyes that shine in the moonlight. He remembers how his "parent"(could he call them that?) gave it to him when he was- could he even remember anymore? It was the first and last thing he got from them.
He sets the dragon aside and stands up, his bare feet hitting the cool wooden floor. He walks over to the window and pushes it open, letting in a rush of refreshing(and pretty hot) night air. He inhales deeply, relishing the sensation of pure air filling up his nostrils.
Looking out at the valley below, he sees rocks, many of them. It reminded him of hell.
He looked around before spotting a certain someone outside in the forest.
It was Wind archer, guardian of the millennial tree. Fire spirit's heart skips a beat as he recognizes Wind archer standing among the trees, his silhouette illuminated by the soft moonlight. He blushes, brushing it off. how could he think like that?
He can't help but get an urge to talk to the Archer, so Fire spirit quickly slips in his suit and dashes out of the room, making his way down the volcano and out into the night.
As he steps into the forest, Fire spirit's flames flicker with anticipation. He moves as silently as he could. The crisp scent of pine fills his nostrils and the rustle of leaves beneath his feet is drowned out by the steady beating of his heart.
The forest envelops him in its ethereal beauty, its secrets whispering through the treetops. Finally, Fire spirit spots Wind archer up ahead, His green bow gleaming in his hands. He stands on a small clearing, his gaze fixed on a fallen spirit in the distance.
Fire spirit approaches cautiously, not wanting to be caught by wind archers, but unable to contain himself. He takes a step too close, causing the spirit's hair to dance. Wind archer sees this in the corner of his eye and turns his head towards the sudden movement,
Fire spirit hides behind a tree, suppressing a cheeky snicker.
Wind archer's eyes narrow as he checks the area, feeling something out of the ordinary. He hardens his clutch on his bow, ready to defend himself. Fire spirit, knowing this "game" could escalate fast, decides to reveal himself before things get out of hand.
Fire spirit reveals himself from behind the tree, his fire illuminating the area. Wind archer's eyes widen in surprise (and maybe in annoyance) as he recognizes the source of the disturbance. He narrows his eyes directly at him. "Fire spirit," Wind archer chuckles, lowering his bow. "You never fail to surprise me." Fire spirit giggled before Wind archer asked him something else, "Spirit, why are you awake?"
"I woke up and couldn't resist going out," he replies, his voice filled with playful charm. "And when I saw you standing here, I couldn't resist the opportunity to give you a little scare." Wind archer sarcastically laughs, a hint of softness in his eyes. "Well, you certainly succeeded in that," he says with a shake of his head. "But seriously, what brings you out here tonight?"
Fire spirit's expression was thoughtful for a moment before he shrugs. "I suppose I just needed air," he admits. "I prefer being outside rather than inside"
Wind archer nods understandingly, a faint smile appearing at the corners of his lips. "I can relate to that," he says, his voice carrying a hint of wistfulness. "The forest has a way of grounding me, reminding me of who I am." Fire spirit watches how the wind talks. There is a silent connection between them, as they both smile together. As they stand there in Silence, the moonlight illuminates an outline against them both. Fire spirit notices little details about the forest. The rustling leaves crunch and slowly fall to the ground. Fire spirits can smell the scent of blooming flowers.
A little too clearly.
"Uh- Windy- IMEANWINDARCHER. i- have to go." He firmly held in a breath, "Wait-" Wind archer was too late, as fire spirit was already gone. (flew off bc he's the biggest bird)
. . .
Oh Dragons.
As Fire spirit swiftly flew through the night sky, his heart raced with regret. He couldn't believe he had let his tongue slip like that. Why did he have to call Wind archer by the nickname only his father used. It felt so awkward, so personal, yet he hadn't meant for it to slip out at that moment.
And yet, that wasn't the only problem he had to deal with at the moment. He swiftly landed in the Dragon's valley before having to deal with that problem.
cough- he coughed more, wheezing even before he spat something out. He spat out a small, green flower. It contrasted out to the valley for a second, before fading away into a small pile of ash.
Fire spirit's eyes dilate in surprise (and worry). That was strange..? What the hell was that. . he thought before he spat out another. It was a newborn flower- inside his throat?
How did these even grow inside of him? He's made out of pure FIRE.
Curiously seekinf answers, Fire spirit decided to seek out the "Wise Old Tree" (ew old hag) at the heart of the Millennial Forest. Legendry's (including the tree's guardian!!) spoke of its ancient wisdom and its understanding and wisdom of topics of such.
. . .
As Fire spirit approached the towering tree, its leaves rustled in acknowledgment, as if it had been expecting him.
"Great Tree," Fire spirit began, his voice having a mix of awe and urgency. "I- uh. So basically.. Flowers have started to grow inside me, and I don't understand why."
The Wise Old Tree stood silent for a moment, its horns swaying gently in a breeze that only it could feel.
Finally, it spoke with a voice that was calm, carrying the weight of centuries of knowledge.
"you must be Fire spirit, correct? " it rumbled, The tree knew he was correct. "These flowers hold great meaning to an extent. These flowers are blooming out in your lungs, they are caused by a disease."
Fire spirit's eyes widened in surprise and confusion. "disease?" he repeated, he huffed, who?
The Tree chuckled softly, "Yes.." it replied in a soothing tone. "The disease you carry within you is known as the hanahaki disease. It is caused by one sided love, until you confess and your beloved reciprocates those feelings, you are stuck with flowers in your throat.
Fire spirit's eyes sparkled with hope as he heard this information. He couldn't stand the thought of these flowers growing inside him indefinitely, gradually extinguishing his fire.
The flowers blooming inside Fire spirit's throat were a beautiful and painful sight to behold. Each petal are green, complimenting him. They seemed to twist and turn, reaching desperately for air as they struggled against the burning flames.
The flowers blooming inside of Fire spirit's chest are a mix of vibrant flowers, from dark green petals to delicate slightly green lilies. The leaves were also lush and green, as if they were thriving despite the harsh environment of Fire spirit's burning body
His mind was racing, fear, confusion.
"Who was this "person" person causing this?"
end.
