Rae had worked at Playtime Co. years before it shut down. She had started in 1990 up until her last day in 1994. When the Playcare had been constructed and made for the children, she had been relocated to work with the children, specifically in Home Sweet Home. The children were not only sweet in their own childlike manner but fun and silly. She greatly enjoyed working with them.
Then came the launch of the Smiling Critters. The children adored the little things. But the one who caught the most of Rae's attention was Catnap. The large lumbering cat that came in every night and safely put the children to sleep with the poppy gas. Although Catnap nevered paid any of the workers attention he always got most of hers.
When Rae was first assigned into the Playcare, she met Theodore. He was the brightest kid in his class, said by Miss Delight, and the most troublesome as well. On many occasions when she saw him outside of Home Sweet Home, he was either sitting away from the kids in time out or being reprimanded by another adult present.
Then he almost killed himself. Theodore had snuck in one of the employee back rooms and taken a grabpack. One with only a green hand. Rae was pretty positive it was a broken one either discarded or awaiting repair. But then snuck into the labs that children of his age shouldnt be able to get access to and tried to release something from its containment cell. The entire plan backfired and the grabpack electrocuted him.
If whatever Theodore freed decided to leave him, Theodore would have died. But the machine toy thing saved Theodore and brought him to the medical wing, ultimately saving his life.
Soon Theodore returned to Home Sweet Home. Rae noticed right away his major change in behavior. He would spend more and more time in the crafts section, which used to be monitored by CraftyCorn but she had been taken out to get fixed because apparently she was malfunctioning.
Rae remembered these days. She would be walking around in the Home Sweet Home and saw Theodore, all by himself, drawing with crayons, surrounded by many different colored papers. She had walked in one time and peered over his shoulder. He was surrounded by black and purple drawings of him and something. It was only a hand whenever it was drawn into the small boys' pictures.
She reminded him it was lunch time and to go to the cafeteria. He jumped and looked over his shoulder to semi glare at her. He looked away, jumped up from his chair and ran from the room.
Rae picked up his drawings and tucked them away into his folder where many similar drawings resided. She picked up the two crayons which were not really crayons anymore, just tiny stubs of colored wax Theodore had worn down.
It wasn't long after till Theodore didn't come to bed one night. Neither did Catnap. The kids were close to crying because they missed the giant feline. To calm the small children she sang a song to them and continued up until the day they fired her.
It was about a week later. The day after Catnap came back. Although Rae noted, it didn't seem like Catnap anymore. The giant purple cat gave more attention to certain kids who also shortly would disappear without Raes' knowledge.
But the one thing that startled Rae, an incident after she was leaving a small office in Home Sweet Home, Catnap was watching her through her window. Rae jumped and dropped her papers but it did not startle the purple beast, instead he simply watched her, the small white pupils following her every move.
There was a look of recognition and understanding in the big cats eyes that Rae to this day would never place until years later.
When Rae opened the door Catnap moved aside and she slipped past and walked away. Thuds on the carpet followed her. She looked back and saw Catnap following her his head slightly cocked to the side.
She turned back and slightly petted him on the head. The giant cat's head leaned into her hand for a split second then turned tail and disappeared into the shadows of another hallway.
Then the next day she was called down to Stella's office and fired. The only reason she gave for firing her was that she got "too friendly" with the children and frankly the toys as well. And that she had one day to pack her stuff and leave.
She left the factory in tears that day. And she never looked back. Shortly after she left the factory stopped producing toys and people who worked there were missing. They investigated the building and found nothing so they pronounced them missing and closed the case.
Rae always found this weird thing strange to say the least. Where did hundreds of employees just vanish too? And now 10 years later she came back.
Ready to find what the police didn't and hopefully get better answers than the entire staff was just missing.
Hehe new story guys ^^ let me know if I should update my others and which ones and please enjoy this.
