Rae had been working at Playtime Co for about a month now. She really enjoyed working there. She worked around electricals all the time and helped restore power.
Just like she was now. She finished the electrical thing and walked back to the main office. It was now the end of her shift. She was going to out her grabpack away and clock out. That was until Ryan ran up to her.
"Rae Huggys missing." He said out of breath, like he ran to her.
"What?" She asked.
"The power in his room went out with kids in there and when you fixed it he was gone. Rae please you need to find him or they'll fire me!" He only said that because he was on Huggy duty.
Rae roller her eyes. "Fine. But you own me." Ryan nodded and looked relieved. This was the week before Rae got moved to the game station and he would get fired a day after she was moved. But that's a story for a different time.
Rae searched for well over an hour, she was about to give up, go home and let Ryan get fired, but then she heard a faint sound. She was in one of the utility halls where there were lots of rooms. But followed the sound until she came to one of the storage closets.
She opened the door but couldn't open it all the way. She shined her flashlight in and saw that there was a shelf that had been knocked over and was blocking the door.
There was a faint crying sound and she swung her flashlight around the dark room and saw Huggy curled into a corner seemingly crying.
"Huggy?" Rae called into the room.
The soft blue toy slowly looked back at her. "Hi Friend..." Huggy said, his goofy voice soft and sad.
"Hi buddy. Can I come in?" He nodded. So she tried to push the door the rest of the way open but it didn't work out too well. She watched Huggy get up and lift the shelf up. He set it back in its place and sat down.
Rae walked into the room. "What happened Huggy?" The blue toy wouldn't just run off like he had.
"I was performing for the kids and talking to them. There was this little girl and she was scared of me. She said I was a monster, then the lights went out and I ran from the room." Huggy lowered his head and let out a small sob. "I'm not a monster... am I Friend?"
"No Huggy. You're not a monster at all. You're my bestest friend here." She said and rubbed his back softly. "Nothing could ever change that."
He smiled softly. Then without a word got up and left the room, leaving RAe to follow him.
Now
Rae walked down the vent a bit then she slipped and rolled head first down a long steep. Rae tucked her head into her arms and she crashed at the bottom and rolled over herself. Fuck, she needed to pay more attention.
Rae slowly stood up and looked back behind her. There was no way of getting back up there now. She could try but it would probably be a waste of time to climb the steep rolling bars.
So she turned back to the vent laid out in front of her. There was a little shaft next to her and a fuse in front of her. The fuse obviously needed to be powered. Rae explored a little more ahead of her and saw a closed door that would probably open if she powered the fuse. As she started walking down the little shaft that was back by where she crashed at, she noticed her nose had started bleeding.
Great. Like she really needed to be getting hurt now.
Rae walked past a little opening and saw a power pole like the one in the electrical room. But it was surrounded by the rolling bars. She needed to find a different way up there, and maybe there would be a power source too.
