I'm sitting in front of the Davidson family trying to understand what the problem is. The dad is looking down not making eye contact with anyone with his hands clasped together. The mother is looking everywhere but at her husband and kids who are next to her on each side.

I looked at the kids, there are three two boys and one girl. The oldest is about seventeen looking he has a scowl on his face with his arms crossed. The second oldest looks to be thirteen and is fidgety by the movement he is giving I think he might have anxiety. Now the last one who is the youngest and only girl she looks to be six years old and is holding a stuffed animal. I can tell she's scared by everything that is going on and probably doesn't understand.

"Ok, so what can I help you with?" I asked politely.

"Um, we've been having some issues in our family, and we need your help to get through them." Mr. Davidson said still not making eye contact with anyone.

"Ok well tell me what's been going on."

Mr. David started telling me what's been happening in their family and lives, He told me about himself, his wife, and the issues going on with their children. As I carefully listen to their story I silently wrote everything down.

"Mr. and Mrs. Davidson how about this, with everything you told me I think it's best if I had a one on one with each of you." I spoke.

Each family member had a different reaction to what I said. The dad had on a confused face like he heard wrong. The mother's had on a shock face mixed with concern. The oldest son... well I'll just say he doesn't seem all that happy with what I said with the look he's giving me. The second oldest he looks like he's about to cry. "Poor kid." I thought. The daughter she looks confused and is looking at each of her family for answers.

"Why?" Everyone turned their heads to the oldest son. I looked down at everything I wrote and looked back up at me. "So, I can get to know you all better and have a better understanding at what could be going on." I said smiling.

The seventeen-year-old glared at me. "Why can't you that with all of us in the room?"

"I think it will be easier to figure out what's happening if I could talk to you each alone. Also, there might be somethings you might not want to talk about with your parents and siblings here." I smiled.

He rolled his eyes causing his mother to scold him. "Jason don't be rude."

"I wasn't interested coming here but you made me. I thought this was a family thing. Now I find out we have to be a one on one conversation with this guy? Yea, not gonna happen." He stood up and left my office.

Mr. Davidson looked at me with sadness in his eyes. "Thank you Mr. Scott, I and my wife will think about what you said and we'll let you know." He told me and him and his wife and kids left too, leaving me in my thoughts.

"Did I say the right thing? Was that a good idea?" I wondered.

I shook my head and stood up an walked to my desk and sat down.

"I guess I'll see what happens."
