Therapist Pov

The little six-year-old girl is currently sitting across from me on the green couch eating a chocolate bar that I gave her. Don't worry I asked her mother if it was ok.

"Aren't you going to ask me questions?"

A small voice brought me out of my thoughts. "What?" I asked looking at her to see her staring back at me. "Aren't you going to ask me questions?" She repeated.

"Right, so Julia tell me about yourself." I smiled and got ready to write down what she tells me. "I like to dance, I like to watch princess movies and I love my family." She told me and I couldn't help but grin when she said that she loved her family.

"That's sweet, are you in a dance class?"

She nods. "Yea! Ballet."

"Awesome, so can you tell me how your home life? What is it like for you with your family?" I carefully asked her. She frowned and I started to feel sorry for asking the question, but I need to know and after hearing from each family member this has got to affect her in some way.

...Right?

"Um... ok my life at home is nice especially when daddy's home because he spends the day with me. But it sometimes gets ruined when Jason argues with him and then mommy has to break them apart and Chase takes me away upstairs or outside." Tears formed in her eyes. "It really bothers the neighbors I think because the cops got called before."

My eyes softened. "Do you want to take a break, Julia?"

"No, I'm a big girl. I can do this." She says wiping the tears away. "They think I don't notice but I do."

"What do you mean?"

"Daddy... he works a lot to provide for us and mommy can't seem to understand that, so she argues with him and accuses him of things that aren't true." I widened my eyes in shock. Did Mr. Davidson talk to her about this? I wonder.

"And Jason he has anger problems and he can be scary sometimes." She whispered.

"Julia, be honest does he ever take his anger out on you or Chase?" I asked seriously.

She shook her head. "No, Chase told me that we should let him be when he's like that so nobody will get hurt. He thinks I don't realize but I know Chase is depressed. I don't why though he comes home and locks himself in his bedroom sometimes. I think I even heard him cry in there and then he comes out acting as everything's fine." She pauses for a few seconds.

"I heard him talking to mommy about being bullied, I don't understand why anyone will want to do that to him or anyone. I had a bully one time in kindergarten, and I stood up for myself like daddy always tells me." She grinned when speaking about her dad.

I smiled it's true Mr. Davidson is closer to his daughter than his other kids. I hope one day they all will be close and get along, like how a family should.

"You really love your daddy, don't you?"

She giggled and nodded. "I do, he's the best!"

I laughed and nodded too and looked down at what I written.

"Julia, you told me about your home life with your family but how are you doing in school?"

"I love school and being with my friends and all my teachers!" She grinned but then it dropped. "School is surprisingly where I feel the safest because at is uncomfortable and uh-" She tried to think of another word.

"Is it because of all the tension that's making you uncomfortable?"

She nodded I'm not sure if she knew what that word meant but her home life does sound stressful.

I looked at the time and smiled. "Well, look at that our time is up miss Julia."

She giggled and hopped off the couch and gave me a big hug.

"Thank you Mr. Scott, you are the first therapist I've been to. My friends told me not good things about their therapist, and you were the opposite of what they said."  I smiled and hugged her back.

She pulled away and grinned. "I'm happy that you're my family's therapist and I'll tell my friends you are the opposite of what they told me." After that she ran out of my office door letting it shut behind her. Mrs. Davidson is supposed to out there in the waiting room waiting for her daughter.

I sighed in happiness and looked up at the ceiling with my eyes closed.

"God bless that family."
