At first, Evan didn't understand why the next two floors unlocking was such a big deal.  But once he ascended the stairs to the third floor, he quickly figured it out.  Passing by unexciting classrooms and a decent-looking Rec Room as well as storage, he found an art room.  To him, this wasn't the best news ever, but he heard Tommie's loud gasp as she burst inside, emerging several minutes later with a new excited gleam in her eyes.

"They have watercolors!" she exclaimed. "I love watercolors."

Evan just gave her a smile, unsure what to say.  He wanted to let her have this moment before anything else bad happened to ruin it.  They continued down the winding halls until they found themselves at a fork in the road.

"Let's go left first," Tommie told him, and he obliged.

They made another turn and found themselves in some sort of lab.  Complex-looking equipment lined the shelves, and boxes labeled Prisms and Magnets were stacked neatly in a corner.

"Oh, boring.  This looks like my old Physics classroom," Tommie groaned, wrinkling her nose at the sight of all of the supplies that were clearly meaningless to her.

"Maybe you could take some photos of the stuff later?  Like, some aesthetic shots?" Evan suggested.

She looked down at the camera dangling from her neck. "Hm, maybe."

Deciding that there was nothing else special about this physics lab, the two returned to the fork in the road and took the right hallway this time, coming to a stop in front of another staircase.

"Alright, fourth floor time," Evan said.

Seeing the first thing on the fourth floor being the bathrooms, Evan's expectations were lower than low.  But when he glanced to the right as they trekked down the hallway, he stopped dead in his tracks, the squeak of the rubber soles on his shoes alerting Tommie of his sudden reaction.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

Evan said nothing before making a sharp left and booking it down the hall into this new room.

"What are you- oh," Tommie said as she came to a stop behind him.

"Now this is what I'm talking about!" he exclaimed, gesturing to the music hall around him.

Tommie giggled at his excitement, holding up her camera. "Strike a pose, nerd."

Feeling silly, Evan made the most ridiculous pose he could think of.  Tommie could barely hold her camera still from laughter.  After a minute of struggling, she finally managed to calm down enough to snap a few photos before they both agreed to leave before Evan got too attached to this new area.

This was the only new room that they both managed to understand as they wandered the unfamiliar corridors of the fourth floor.  There were classrooms, sure, but everything else was hard to process.

"I don't see how this belongs in a school," Tommie said as she gestured to the wall of screens in front of her. "I mean, what is this?  Security?"

"If it was security, wouldn't Ace be in here, seeing as they've been watching out every move?" Evan reminded her.

"You're right." She turned her attention to a door inside of the room and went to open it.  She jiggled the doorknob a few times before shaking her head. "It's locked."

"Weird."

They made a few right turns before finding a blocked-off staircase on their left, and another lab on their right.  This one had racks of test tubes and cabinets full of vials.  A box of latex gloves and a bin of safety goggles sat on a countertop on their left as they walked in.

"Chemistry?" Evan asked.

"Chemistry," Tommie agreed.

"Too bad there's nobody here that loves science that much."

They laughed together for a moment before deciding that this room was unimportant to them and that there was no point in hanging out in there any longer.  Finally, they made their way back around to one last hallway which took them to two offices.  The first office was located on their right and didn't seem that exciting.  The second was straight ahead, and immediately seemed to hold a certain air of superiority to the first one.  The professionalism of the room confirmed that it had no doubt belonged to someone important.

"Is this Ace's room?  It seems like the headmaster would be in here," Tommie said, scanning the room for the monochromatic dragon.

Evan picked up a framed photo off of the desk. "I don't think so."

Tommie looked over his shoulder at the image.  It was of a young dirty-blonde in a gray suit and cyan tie, the bottom half of their face covered by a cyan mask.  A small brooch of a dragon was attached to their lapel.

"Who is that?" she asked.

"I don't know," he responded, setting the photo back down next to a name plate that read 'A. Dunnit'. "I'm guessing that was the old headmaster?  Before Ace?"

"I mean, that makes sense," Tommie shrugged, fishing through the bookshelves covering most of the walls.  "A lot of sci-fi and dystopian books.  Oh, and there's a bunch of history books too."

Evan opened one of the drawers in the desk.  It was empty.  He checked another one.  It was empty as well.  The third one held a stack of crisp files.  He opened the top one.

Beaumont, Emile

Ultimate Environmentalist

That was what the title page read.  He flipped through to see pages of information on her such as her height, age, and birthdate.  The last item in the file, though, was the one that made his stomach twist into knots.  It was a photograph of her lifeless body in the infirmary.  He snapped the file shut, setting it back on top of the stack and shutting the drawer.  He wasn't in the mood to relive his friends' deaths at the moment.

"Hey, what's this?" Evan's gaze shifted upwards, to where Tommie had removed a box of tapes from a cabinet.  She waved one at him, and he approached to get a better look at what she'd found.

"And there's an old TV right there," she added, nodding to where the boxlike device sat on a shelf.

Evan took the tape she was holding from her and read the label.

C77-010.

"The hell does that mean?" he asked himself.

Tommie gestured to the TV . "It's not like you can find out or anything."

Evan rolled his eyes but walked over to the old TV anyways, inserting the tape into the slot and pressing the on button.  As the screen flickered to life, a video began to play.
