Sophie was sitting under Calla's Panakes tree, snuggled up with Wynn and Luna. The sun was beginning to set, painting the sky in hues of red, orange, and, yellow. While Sophie watched this, Keefe appeared out of nowhere. He approached Sophie, flashing her a smirk that didn't quite reach his eyes. He looked tired and out of it. "Are you okay?" Sophie asked him. Several long seconds of silence passed before he answered "I'm fine..." He said it so quietly it took Sophie several seconds to realize he'd said something. Sophie wasn't convinced, but she let the subject drop. They sat in silence, both enjoying each other's company. Sophie realized that Keefe looked exhausted. He had dark circles under his eyes and he looked like he hadn't slept in days. Sophie asked him again just to make sure, "Are you sure?" He looked at her before saying, "I'm fine, Foster. I promise." Sophie didn't believe him. She grabbed his hand, lacing her fingers with his. "Please, Keefe. You can tell me..." He said nothing, his eyes focused on their entwined hands. "C'mon Keefe! You can tell me anything! You're my best friend!" Keefe raised an eyebrow, "I am? I thought Dex was your best friend." Sophie looked at the ground, several seconds passing before she said, "He is, but you're extra special to me..." Keefe smiled softly, "If only you knew how much I care for you..." Sophie blushed. "I do Keefe. I do." Keefe tucked a strand of Sophie's hair behind her ear "If only that were true..."
