Chapter 2 - Lullaby Pt 2

Erigor sneered at Kai. The Dragon Slayer shifted the hold of his sword to a two-hand style and bent his knees, shifting his weight as well. That scythe was going to keep Erigor at range.

Several people ran away, in utter fear, while some guards approached quite gingerly. They had to know who this guy was. Lullaby hung on his belt, practically a taunt at Kai.

"What's it gonna be, Fairy?" Erigor asked. "Dragon Slayer?"

Kai didn't move, didn't let Erigor egg him on. The battles raged on in the station. Kai lowered his sword, and Erigor moved first.

Good.

Erigor moved with the wind, slicing up with his scythe. Kai blocked with the sword quite easily and moved his weight forward. Erigor effortlessly moved back and tried to bring Kai closer with the scythe, and Kai obliged, bonking his head onto Erigor's with a fresh sheet of ice on his face. Kai punched Erigor away.

"Frozen Fear!"

Kai cut downward with his sword, and, for a moment, the attack didn't seem to take effect until the ice started to creep up Erigor's hands. Erigor snarled and shot himself up, into the sky, toward the sun. Kai bounded off the walls of the station and followed.

"Fool!" he cried. "I command the skies! Storm Bringer!"

Even with frozen hands the magic circle still formed from his casting, his scythe floating at his side. Kai was stuck in the air and the whirlwind struck him, sending him flying back onto the railroad track.

He slammed onto it, much to the outcry of those beneath, and rolled. He slammed his hand on the ground and a sheet of ice made it much easier for him to slide on. Kai held his sword with a single hand, flicking it and some twinkles of ice came off of it. He aimed it at Erigor.

"Frozen Fear!"

Erigor zipped toward him, this time fast enough to dodge the spell. "Did you really think that would work twice?"

"Nope," Kai said, and a wall of ice shot up. Erigor crashed into it and bounced back like a ball, wind gusting all around Kai. "But I knew you were pretty stupid."

Erigor wiped away the blood pouring down his face.

"You little brat..."

"Come on, Erigor, I thought you were this great assassin?"

"I am." Erigor flashed his scythe. "As such, I'll finish this in as few moves as possible. And like a good assassin, you won't touch me again. Storm Mail!"

Erigor crossed his arms and the winds whipped up around him again. Kai sheathed his sword so to not lose control of it and let the wind whip him around again as it formed a massive creature around Erigor, who punched down at Kai. Kai took the hit, summoning a slide of ice to send him curling gently back onto the ground.

"Fine then," Kai muttered. His nerves took over. Erza was nearby. If something were to happen...she could handle it.

Chills consumed his body. Something roared within him. Kai slammed his fists together and ice sprang from them. His hair stood up and his potent Dragon Slayer aura wafted up around him while the winds whipped up something fierce.

"Are you praying?" Erigor shouted. "Good! Pray to me, pray to death itself! Here I come!"

The Storm Mail-Erigor launched a powerful wind fist down at Kai.

"Ice Dragon Shield!"

The Dragon Slayer's magic erupted out of the magic circle and completely blocked the attack, stunning Erigor. Kai kicked the wall back, the force of the magic even moving the winds. Kai held his hands over his head, and his own storm formed.
