Chapter Eight

The taxi came to a stop outside of 'Mimi's ballet studio' and both Cossette and Bella got out, thanking the driver as they closed the door.

As Bella checked her Pepper spray can was full, Cossette quickly messaged Emmett a simple 'I love you'.

The nerves were staring to kick in as she looked over to Bella, who gave her a reassuring smile before walking into the building.

The place looked completely empty and Cossette's eyebrows furrowed in confusion until Bella's Mother's voice could be heard, repeating her name frantically.

The two girls rushed towards her voice and Bella opened two double doors, which only revealed a videotape of a younger Bella with her Mother repeating her name numerous times.

"We've got to go, now!" Cossette whisper shouted as the two quickly realised they had fallen for a stupid trap.

James chuckled from behind them as they turned around to see him walking closer to them.

"She's not even here" Bella muttered nervously as he pushed Cossette up against the wall, deeply inhaling her scent of warm blood running through her veins.

"Your friend really made it too easy" He whispered almost seductively as he pulled a video camera out. He shoved it in Cossette's face, who was now struggling to breathe, before grabbing Bella by her throat and shoving the camera towards her.

"Oh this will break Emmett and Edward's little hearts" He teased as Bella raged at him. Cossette stood silently beneath him trying her hardest to control her impossibly fast breathing with no hope.

Bella began fiddling with the pepper spray by the side of her thigh and Cossette desperately tapped her hand, trying to signal her not to use it on him.

She didn't take the hint and instead sprayed it right in his eyes, before grabbing ahold of Cossette's hand and beginning to run across the ballet floor.

James growled as he jumped infront of the girls. He grabbed Bella's throat again and threw her across the floor, causing her head to smash against wall.

"Bella!" Cossette shouted in horror as she watched her friend's head begin to pour with blood. This however only turned James' attention to Cossette, who he grabbed and threw into a mirror. The mirror shattered as Cossette cried out in pain, trying to pull a piece of glass out of her leg.

"Beautiful. Very visiually dynamic" James coed as he pointed the camera at both girls as they cried out in pain.

"Too bad they didn't have the strength to change you. Instead they kept you a fragile little human, it's cruel really" He taunted as he lifted Bella's hand to take a deep inhale at her strongly scented blood.

"Get away from her" Cossette pleaded weakly as he looked over to her again. He gripped onto her leg with is impossible amount of strength.

Cossette screamed out in pain as the camera stayed shoved in her face, filming every second of her discomfort. "Tell Emmett how much it hurts. Tell him!" He shouted, as she continued to scream with tears running down her cheeks.

Bella sobbed beside her, trying her hardest to get him to stop with her pleading words, instead he only forced his hand deeper into her leg which was sure to be breaking the bone.

As she closed her eyes weakly, still trying to get out enough breath to scream, James was forcefully pushed away from her.

Bella slowly moved over to Cossette and held her hand in a comforting way before wrapping her jacket around Cossette's leg, trying to ignore the burning sensation from the back of her head.

As Cossette continued to cry out in pain, she noticed it was Edward who had pushed James away. He was alone because he was faster than the rest of the family, but not stronger. The smell of both their blood combined filled the room as Edward glanced over to them, having to remind himself that he loved Bella.

"I'm strong enough to kill you" Edward scoffed, pushing James across the room and into a mirror as he ran over to Bella and picked her up.

James quickly got back up and pulled him back down to the ground, throwing Bella across the room once again as she now screamed in pain aswell.

"No, no!" Cossette coughed out desperately as James smirked, grabbing ahold of Bella's wrist to take a bite out of her arm.

Bella screamed and was unable to breathe as the venom began to slowly spread. Cossette tried to crawl over to help her, however she was too weak.

Edward managed to get a good grip on James as the rest of the family finally arrived and Carlisle insisted he go help Bella before the change happed.

"Emmett" Cossette muttered, looking up at him as he pulled her into his chest. He looked down at her leg which was beginning to loose a lot of blood.

"I'm so sorry" He replied, tightening the jacket around her thigh to help apply pressure on it.

Emmett hadn't always been surprisingly good with human blood, he had a crave for it like any other vampire, but he could stop himself around her.

Cossette closed her eyes at the sound of Bella screaming in pain as Edward began sucking the venom out of her arm, not wanting the change to happen to her.

As she continued to keep her eyes tightly closed, her body took that as its opportunity to finally pass out to the point of her not waking up until she was in a hospital bed beside Bella, who hadn't long woken up either.

"Mother," Cossette muttered as she looked over to her side, noticing her Mother, Cristiano and Emmett sitting beside eachother, her Mother making sure to sit slightly apart from the two.

"You're awake." She said coldly walking over to sit on the end of the bed. "Look Ettie, I love you but I can't do this. You've publicly embarrassed me again" She said with little emotion. "So you're going to be staying with Charlie for a while. I would have asked Billy but I'm too embarrassed to ask him."

"What?" Cossette raised her voice in shock. She had just woken up for the first time in days and was now being hit with the news of her being kicked out.

"Emmie," Emmett said harshly as he tugged her up onto her feet. "I think it's best you leave, now" He insisted as she attempted to argue but was unable to get her words out.

Emmie scoffed before walking out of the hospital room with an insane attitude, leaving Cossette more confused than ever and with a banging headache.
