She hated being pregnant. She was doing fine throughout the pregnancy but the minute she went on maternity leave, she has been getting insanely bored and sore. It didn't help that she was living with Ross. For some odd reason she has been finding him extremely attractive. Although he could get on her nerves lately with his constant worry, he has been really helpful during this pregnancy. When she had a craving, he was up and ready to make whatever she desired. Her mood swings weren't easy either. A lot of things have been annoying her lately. From the way Ross was breathing to the way her sock felt on her feet made her want to cry.
She was getting kind of difficult to live with but Ross has not peeped a word. He's been so helpful, honestly, he was a godsent at this point. She'd never admit it to him, it would send his ego flying through the roof.
When she gets really bored during the day, she usually called Ross because it was technically his fault that there was another human being grown in her stomach. She already loved her baby, but it was fun to tease him once in a while. He would be blubbering like crazy and jumping up to do what she asked for. It was quite entertaining if she was honest with herself. However, when she was alone there was no one to spend time with so she called her baby daddy. She wondered how he always had time to pick up the phone, considering he's teaching. But he did and she was forever grateful.
This was one of those times.
"Hi Rach," he said into the phone.
"Ross, I'm bored and I'm uncomfortable and bored," she said into the phone.
"Okay? Do you need me to come home?" he asked.
"No," she replied plainly, "What are you doing though?"
"I'm teaching a class actually, so I think I need to go but if there's an emergency don't hesitate to call," he said and with that he hung up the phone.
She understood that he was busy working, but these freaking hormones were all over the place and she started crying as he hung up the phone. It just hit her the wrong way.
To occupy herself, she walked into the kitchen to make herself something to eat. She's been really hungry lately. Afterall she was eating for two. Ross stocked up a few days ago with different kind of delicious snacks. She took some chips and a jar of peanut butter and waddled back to the living room. She turned the TV on and started munching on her chips. Weekend at Bernie's was one of the things that has been keeping her sane. It's her favourite movie and it gives her comfort at times like this, when she knew she was going crazy.
Ross had perfect timing. The minute the film has ended he came walking through the door.
"Hello, professor," Rachel called from the couch.
"Hi Rach, how are you doing?" he asked as he set his briefcase down beside the couch and sat down beside her.
"I've been better," she said with a glum face.
"I'm sorry I couldn't talk on the phone today," he said as he rubbed her belly.
"It's okay," she smiled as Ross leaned down to her stomach and gave it a kiss. It was a daily ritual where Ross would come home from work and talk to their baby girl. It was such a sweet and innocent gesture. But to her for some reason it seemed like so much more. It felt very intimate. Maybe it was her hormones talking but she just felt more and more attracted to him. There were butterflies in her stomach when she saw him. The feeling wasn't foreign to her. It used to be like that when they first started dating but it eventually subsided when they broke up. However, from time to time there were days where she wondered what it would be like to be with him again. Those days became fairly frequent in the past weeks. She brushes it off and says it's just because of the baby. Who wouldn't feel attracted to the guy that gave them their first child.
