MICHELLE POV

On my way back home, I stop at a gas station and buy some snacks before filling up my car.

As I get back onto the freeway, my phone rings. I answered it from the car without checking who it was.

"Hello?"

"I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY!"

"Linda?"

"Fine, you win. Take her. I don't want to see her or you ever again!"

"Linda, calm down. What are you talking about?"

"Amanda! I just kicked her out. If you want her that much, take her. I don't want her in my house anymore. Both of you can go to hell for all I care."

"Wha-what? Linda! LINDA!" I check my phone and see that Linda has already hung up. I click a button on my steering wheel and yell, "Call Amanda!"

I'm left confused and not sure as to what was happening, but I need to check up on Amanda.

"Hell-"

"Where are you!?" I interrupt her in a bit of a panic.

"Uhh...w-what?"

"I'm heading over to pick you up; send me your location."

"Oh, OK."

I wait impatiently, tapping my finger on the steering wheel. My phone pings, and I see a message from her with a link to, I hope, her location.

"Got it! Stay there. I'm a couple of
minutes away. "I say driving a bit faster than I should be.

I make it to Amanda, and my heart sinks seeing her sitting on the sidewalk with bags filled with her belongings, I assume.

I park next to her and get out of the car as quickly as possible. I noticed tears welling up in her eyes as I got closer.

As soon as she stands up, I wrap my arms around her, holding her tight. Her body trembles, and her breaths are shaky.
I hate seeing her like this.

"Let's go home." I tell her, wiping tears from her eyes. I help her into my car and place her bags in the trunk.

I hold Amanda's hand. The ride home was quiet except for the radio that quietly played pop music.

When we got home, Amanda fell asleep, still upset.

I take her belongings out of the trunk.

It seems that she was only able to get a couple of things out of the house.

I booked a ride and stepped out of the house when the car arrived. I worry about leaving Amanda alone, but hopefully I'll be back before she wakes up.

...

I back the truck up to the driveway and grab some boxes and bags before getting out. I take a deep breath before knocking on the door.

It's a while before the door opens.

"Michelle?" a stunned Linda answers the door.
