It had been about a month since Elizabeth got back to her old high school.

Eveything started off fine, many stares and a lot of whispers but Ron hadn't even glanced in her direction which she took the opportunity to think that means he knowns she was back.

The thoughts of him knowing she was just around the corner made her heart hurt with both anger and envy.

That's why this past month Elizabeth  had been getting details on him. Everything she could find on social media she did up like a dog looking for a bone.

It took her weeks to find out that he had a private account on instagram and followed only a select few people, all of them who also had private accounts.

It wasn't that difficult to crack however since Elizabeth just had to scale her age count higher than 21, log into a guest account and she followed all the profits accounts that Ron followed.

Elizabeth also found out that one of the private accounts Ron follows was a local drug dealer in his neighborhood.

She could have sold him out for having the use of illegal drugs already, she had pictures of proof but it wasn't enough.

The charges weren't enough. She wanted more.

Walking down the hall of the school she noted there were no more stares from the students around her. Like the gossip that she was back had been pushed to the side and something else more interesting took their ears.

She got to her locker and yanked it open, a light pain squeezing its way through the fabric of her shoulder.

Her father didn't like the fact that her grades had been dropping from her focus shifting to digging up shit on Ron.

Elizabeth had tried to make her parents happy. She tried getting straight A's her entire life but she wasn't that type of person. She wasn't smart, she didn't know how to get into collage early or how to walk with more than 1 degree if not one even.

She couldn't make her parents happy, so she decided to Atleast focus her energy on something more useful.

Information, and connections.

There had been a rumor circulating a few years back when she was a Sophomore that there was some guys in the school with illegal connections.

She didn't know the name but when she asked around that year she knew exactly who she had to ask.

Dangerous, quite so. Worth it from her eyes, absolutely.

Tracking down Mateo Smith was like trying to find a pilot bear in Alaska. He blended in perfectly and he was good at being invisible, to bad he wasn't invisible enough when he had a fertile girl looking for him.

Wandering the halls for five minutes before first bell Elizabeth was desperate to catch a glimpse of a guy with black curly hair, tall frame and lazy cloths.

All she knew was that he was a Senior, having to be held back for two years since he had multiple times of felonies. Ones she didn't even want to ask about.

Eventually to came to a stop of a beat down stairwell that led to the old teachers lounge, now being used for when smokers wanted to take a hit.

Many people avoided the space but she started towards it, hoping that Atleast someone would know where Mateo was or if they had any leads on him.

She knew she was acting desperate, crazy even but she wanted something. Anything from what Ron had forced upon her.

Her life was amazing with him, and he had shoved that in her face and took everything from her.

She wasn't somone to just let things go, especially something that had caused her to loose everything including her crumbling self worth.

Stumbling down the dim stairwell she began to feel slight regret for stopping so low she would willingly put herself in danger; but when the sound of heavy breathing and talking soon hit her ears the regret seeped away into nothing.

Rounding the color the first thing she saw was a musty blue couch with dozens of coffee stains on it, beside with a long office table with trash on it.

The second thing she noted was that she wasn't alone and next to the old blue coach was a guy with black ruffed up hair and scuffed up cloths, looking as if it had been stretched to fit him.

"What the hell you doin' down here?" The guy asked in an itched voice, sounding really with smokers lungs:

"I'm looking for Mateo" Elizabeth informed as she slung her backpack off her shoulder, giving it alight relief.

"What's he to you?" He asked while standing up, ditching a blunt onto the floor.

"I was wondering if he could help me out. I just want information is all" she rose her hands, trying to seem like she wasn't going to sell the guy out.

He stepped out of the small showdown spot and Elizabeth noted that he looked like the description she was given of the guy she was looking for.

"You Mateo?" She asked, more clear with intent.

The guy who looked like Mateo tilted his head. "Yea. Why do you need me?" He we. To sit on the coach with a puff of a sigh.

Elizabeth nervously stepped more closer to him, a little more than an arms distance as she began to explain to him what she wanted, what her goal was.

After the longer explanation Mateo leaned forward, his elbows on his knees and his fingers in a bunch to his lips.

"You want me to dig into this kid's past?"

She nodded as he sighed.

"It's gonna cost you. It'll take a while for me to get things I'll need but I'm sure you're not that much of a rush?" He raised a brow at her, as if saying "you're not in a rush, because you need me".

Elizabeth swallowed hesitantly before sticking out her hand.

"If you get me information I'll get you whatever you want" She proposed as silence thickened through the room, as thick as the smoke Mateo was just inhaling.

Mateo stared at her for a while, contemplating his options before reaching forward and smacking his hand to lock with hers in a firm handshake.

"Elizabeth Light, you might have just made a deal with the devil" He smiled up at her and she felt her stomach turn.

She was slightly regretting her choices more and more, the moment his hand locked with her she knew they was no turning back.

So with a firm shake she let his hand go; and the deal began.
