~Adeline~

The town square was bustling with life as the townspeople were out and about on the warm summer day. Adeline was putting posters up around town that the castle was looking for a new guard, she was wearing her black cloak with the hood up hiding her face. Her long black hair was tucked into the hood hidden along with her fluffy ears and tails. Thankfully she took after her mother in looks and species. Her bright blue eyes scan the crowds of people smiling to herself as she sees the children running past. Her mother passed down her dark raven hair and their lineage of kitsune traits rather than her human father whom she got her eyes and bright smile from.

She didn't want to be putting the posters up as she missed her old guard Killian, but she was glad he had retired to follow his dream of owning a tavern. She zones out as she continues what she is doing. Her father, the king tasked her with putting up the notices for her new personal guard. She missed Killian deeply he always used to make her favorite meals, cooking is something he'd always been good at, she was always the first to try his new recipes. Now that he'd opened the tavern Adelines father had made it her responsibility to pick her new guard.

~Alaric~

Alaric was walking around the town square aimlessly trying to get a lay of the land. His clothes were slightly tattered and torn exposing bits of skin that were covered in scars. He didn't have any money to his name and his expression laid flat. As he walked around taking in the sights a few people would take glances at him as if his presence was an oddity. His posture was slouched over like he hadn't slept in weeks and his clothes were stained in various types of blood some being human or animal while others being monsters. He didn't have high hopes for the kingdom but decided to give it a shot as it seemed to be less dangerous than in the wild... He's aimlessly wandering the square as he gets bumped into stumbling a bit, as he looks down at the one who knocked into him.

"i-im so sorry sir! I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. are you alright?" she says nervously.

Alaric looked down at her some his head only moving slightly. One of his ears gave a slight twitch as he then yawned before speaking tiredly.

"You have nothing to apologize for... Miss?" He tilted his head some noticing her smaller figure that was being disguised by a cloak.

~Adeline~

she glances up at his ears then back to his eyes she pulls her hood down so he could see her face blushing slightly from embarrassment "Adeline, I truly am sorry I should pay more attention to where I'm going mister...?"

"Just feel free to call me Alaric but many people also call me Kuro cause of the hair and well... fur" he said a little more awake now not expecting to be standing before another person who had ears and a tail like him "what's in your hand if you don't mind me asking?" His eyes were locked onto hers as he remained a little slouched since his body was still aching.

"Ah my father wants to hire more guards at the palace so I'm putting up fliers and some stuff for my sister" she smiles at Alaric holding out one of the papers for him.

He took one of the papers and glanced at it for a few before looking back up at Adeline "Will there be money involved? I kind of just got here if you can't tell... it's been a few days since I slept, and I don't really have any money..." as he spoke, he yawned several of times just having the energy enough to stand at this point. He hasn't dealt with a person since he was young mix that with all the fighting and lack of sleep he was drained.

~Victoria~

Victoria had left the palace the moment she realized that Adeline was not in any of her normal spots, and began searching for her, having a few gifts from her last trip. Noticing her she stood back allowing her granddaughter to speak to the young man, before walking over and placing a hand on the girl's head.

"Here you are," she said poking her face next to Adeline's. "I've been searching for you," she said smiling. She glanced over to the young man and looked him over, "hello, young man."

"Hello grandmother!" her eyes light up smiling up at her the older women she was wearing her usual elegant dark blue gown matching flowers in her sliver hair, she looked very youthful for being seventy.

She watches her granddaughter turn to the young man and say "yes, there is money involved and a place to stay I have a few more stops to make if you want to join me then we could head back together" she says looking back at Alaric. finally understanding that they were talking about the guard position.

she looks to the young man as he begins to speak "The names Kuro, sorry for the appearance. I just got into town..." he said trying not to yawn as he spoke.

She waved a hand dismissively, "who cares about that, so you're interested in a knight's position?" She asked looking at the flier. She looked him over again and nodded, "tell him Victoria sent you, or go with us." She moved to stand in front of Adeline and pinched her cheeks gently, "how's my baby girl? Let's stop at Jaques to get your sister something sweet, and then I've got some items for you. I visited your mother's homeland; some items are from your other grandparents." She looked back at the young man, "let's also get some food in the boy."
