Chapter 1: New Horizons

Luna hurried through the crowded halls of Crestwood High, her backpack bouncing with each hurried step. As she turned around the corner, Luna's gaze fell upon the familiar sight of her locker, filled with stickers of her favorite game characters. She opened her locker to get her things for the first period of class.

"Hey Luna!" a voice called her from behind.

Luna turned. It was Kai, his boyfriend. He was walking towards her wearing a smile that always brightens up her day and never fails to lift her spirit in this hectic world.

"Morning, Kai." Luna greeted, her voice with a hint of excitement.

He reached for her side with a soft gaze, finding her hand and squeezing it. "You ready for today babe?"

Luna nodded, her heart fluttering at the familiar touch of his. "Yes. But let me get my english book first. Mr. Thomas is giving out the assignment for our next project."

Kai chuckled, his laughter brings music to her ears. "Always on top of things, Luna. That's why I love you."

They walk together through the halls of Crestwood, laughing together as they made their way through their respective classrooms.

Luna's POV

Kai is my boyfriend. We go to the same school but unfortunately, this academic year we are separated to different classes. I am included in the pilot section and he's on a regular one. It's okay tho, its not like we need to be together all the time. Kai is also the type of person who always makes sure that he cares for me even when we are apart.

He is a gamer, so am I. It is the thing that get us closer together. I saw him play at a local tournament held in our school and he won. A mutual friend introduced us to each other and when he heard that I also like games, he became interested in being friends with me, leading us to our relationship right now.

He is also a streamer and I am proud of everything he has achieved. Its not that much but at a young age such as his, being known in the gaming industry is already an achievement.

I, on the other hand, is just a simple gamer. I mostly play for fun, not very competitive. I cannot give my full time and effort on gaming because I am not like Kai who is very good at it. I excel on academics tho, that's why I'm on pilot section this year. So for me, gaming is a hobby and not a profession.

"Always on top of things, Luna. That's why I love you."

I look at him while he said it. Oh how I love this guy. For me he's just the perfect boyfriend. Its just too good to be true. Sometimes I wonder if this is really real or am I just dreaming?

We walk together and as usual, I can feel the glare of some girls. This is just the downside of having a handsome and famous boyfriend. He is known in our school and his fans are mostly girls. Who would not fall for this guy tho? A high rank player in a known game plus this handsome face, every girl would kill just to switch places with me.

He accompanied me to my classroom and before he left, he kissed me on the forehead. "See you later, babe" he said as he makes his way towards his classroom. With just one kiss, all my worries went away and it lightened up my mood.

Little did Luna know, amidst the familiar rhythm of her highschool life, new horizons awaited, where friendships would be tested, hearts would be broken, and the journey of love would begin anew.
