" Kayla, please start making dinner" mom says. i walk into the kitchen and Dillon is getting the pans and stuff out.

"Dillon you do realize i have to make dinner not you." i say

"Yea i know. but you do realize i'm going to help my little sister. right?" he says

"um... is that ok with mum?" i say curious as to why he'd wanna help me with dinner.

"I don't know, i didn't ask her." he says, as he starts looking for the sauce pan.

"well, i can make it myself. it's fine. if you want to get on Facebook, my laptop is on my bed. feel free to use it." i say. unsure if he'll just leave me or if he'll continue to help me with dinner

"yea i know where it's at but i don't want to get on Facebook. I want to hang out with my little sister. why do you always refuse to let me help you?" he says with a curious look on his face.

"cause i'm used to doing everything on my own, i'm not used to people helping me with things.''

Dillon was gone for 2 years. he was in Florida dealing with somethings of his own. he almost didn't come back. but he wanted to spend the next couple years with me, to make up for missing 2 major years in my life. while he was gone, i was pretty much home by myself or with some friends. so i'm pretty much used to being alone at home. until last week i just locked myself in my room. then Dillon would come in and talk to me, he's trying his best to be a great brother, and in truth, he is a great brother, i'm just having a hard time adjusting to having another person in the house a lot.

"well lil' sis, get used to it, cause while i'm here you'll always have someone to help you, and you'll always have someone to talk to, ok sis?" he says.

"Ok" i say i sound so unsure of this. there's a feeling in my heart that says "trust him" there's a voice in my head that says "dont trust him, and if you do then be very careful"

after i put the sauce in a pan to cook, i took a soft noodle and threw it at Dillon, we had a noodle fight so then i had to make more noodles. I looked at the clock.

"oh shoot, it's almost 4!!" i say rushing to the phone and start dialing Brandon's number.

"kay kay, what's wrong?" Dillon asks as he stirs the pasta.

"i forgot to call brandon and ask him to come to the lake at 5... Hey Brandon" i say as he answers the phone.

"um hi Kayla, what's up?" he says. he sounds nervous.

"I was wondering if you'd want to go to the lake with Jake, Alexis, and me at 5 and then spend the night with us a Alexis's house." i say. hoping he'll say yes.

"sure, is it ok if i come over to your house first? and if it's ok could i drive you there?" he says.

"um hold on let me ask" i set the phone down, "Dillon, can Brandon drive me to the lake?"

"sure, hey could Emily and i come?" he asks.

"um yea, but come at 7 cause i'll be going at 5 to hang with friends for a picnic" i say.

"ok sounds good." Dillon says as he starts texting Emily. i run back to the phone.

"you still there Brandon?" i ask hoping he didn't hang up.

"yep i'm still here, so can i come over and then take you to the lake?" he says.

"yea, we gotta be there about 5 so if you wanna hang out before we go then you should head over about now." i say. hoping he'll be coming here soon.

"ok i'll be there in 10" he said, he only lives like 5 minutes away from me. so the other 5 minutes are probably for him to get ready to see Alexis.
