In the Harry Potter universe, Hogwarts students are split into four different houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Below is a brief description of each one for your convenience, information courtesy of WizardingWorld.com.

Gryffindor: Students placed in Gryffindor demonstrate qualities of bravery, determination, and courage. Students in Gryffindor are typically the most daring at Hogwarts. They might also have a competitive edge, a tendency to challenge authority, and a willingness to stand up for those who need it. The Gryffindor mascot is a lion, and its colors are red and gold.

Slytherin: Students placed in Slytherin are often ambitious, prideful, and cunning. Despite their tough exterior and poor reputation, there have been several good Slytherins to attend Hogwarts! The Slytherin mascot is a snake, and its colors are silver and emerald.

Ravenclaw: Students placed in Ravenclaw are wise, witty, and skillful. These students are innovators, overachievers, and analysts. The Ravenclaw mascot is an eagle, and its colors are blue and bronze.

Hufflepuff: Students placed in Hufflepuff are trustworthy, hardworking, and humble. Hufflepuffs have strong moral compasses, and a strong work ethic. The Hufflepuff mascot is a badger, and its colors are yellow and black.

So with that in mind, you, the demigod debaters, will be filling in for the Sorting Hat today.
