/\ Chapter One /\

{Lisa's POV}

I woke as sun pierced my eyes. I rubbed my eyes to clear up my sight, as it was really blurry from just waking up.

How many times have I woken up like this? I thought to myself.

I brought myself into a sitting position and gathered my bearings. I wondered where I was, thinking how I had fainted time and time again around them.

Who's them? I thought, puzzled for a moment, but then suddenly remembering all that happened yesterday.

Nine and Twelve!!!

I slammed my hands down on the couch, as my head began to ache thinking about yesterday. I rubbed my temples and squinted my eyes trying to ease the pain and I began to grip the blanket beneath me.

Blood, there was so much blood.

And helicopters... Creating wind... Whipping around everything... Including the scent of blood...

"You ok Lisa?" A gentle yet husky voice asked me from across the room.

I slowly raised my head to find Nine, stooping his eyes over his glasses, leaning in the doorway. He was wearing a thin white shirt and boxers.

"Uh... I-I..." I looked intently at him for a moment before dropping my head again. I clutched the blanket below my fingers and squinted my eyes again to keep my tears from flowing.

The memory, though fuzzy, was not weak in presence in my head.

Detective Shibazaki moving in front of the bullet about to pierce Twelve's back.

I fell to my knees as he collapsed behind Twelve.

No...

Red. Red was the color that soon soaked the ground. It pooled around our feet. Stained the grass. Muddled with the water puddles.

NOOO!!!

I was aware of someone screaming out incoherent words, almost inaudible against the blinding white noise.

I then realised, it was me. I was screaming.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! STOP IT!!!

I grabbed at my hair, my short black strands coming out at my clawing hands.

My vision was suddenly invaded by blurriness, and the last thing I saw was red, the dreaded color.

"...sa, Lisa? Lisa?!?!" I realized somone was calling me. I looked up to see Nine kneeling on the floor next to the couch, I was currently laying on. "Lisa? Are you feeling well?" he put the back of his hand on my forehead.

I blushed at his actions, as his face grew more serious and ever so closer to mine.

"Uh... I-I am fine. R-really..." I stuttuered out trying to hide how embarrassed I was. I wasn't quite sure how I was feeling after all that had happened.

"Phoooooh" I nearly jumped out of my skin as someone blew in my ear.

I squirmed around, and a moment later found myself face deep in Nine's lap, the blankets tangled around my legs. I breathed deeply for a moment, taking it to regain my composure, before realising what position I was in.

My face exploded with a blush and I caterpillared to a nearby wall, becoming completely wrapped in the blanket.

I peered out of my cocoon to find, Twelve in all his glory, on all fours on the opposite side of the couch, a grin like no other plastered on his face. He leaned back until he fell on his butt, his unruly brown hair flopping over his warm brown eyes.

How that boy manages to have so many facial expression amazes me...

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!" Twelve burst out laughing, pounding his hands on the couch. He laughed so hard, he rolled off the couch and behind Nine who was still kneeling on the floor and utterly confused, as was I.

Silence soon filled the room as Twelve straightened himself out and wipped tears off his face. he had laughed to the point of tears, yes.

Nine was the first to interupt the crickets solo with a simple: "And what was that all about Twelve?!"

He then proceeded to bonk Twelve on the head and whisper something quickly into his ear. Twelve had an expressionless face for a moment, but he soon returned to that smile that warmed me like the sun on a hot summer day.

By this time I had half crawled out of the blanket and was smoothing out my ruffled hair.

Nine stood up and walked over to where I sit, and held out his hand.

"We were worried you might still be in shock from last night, but thanks to that idiot over there..." he nodded his head in the direction of Twelve, "we now know that you seem to be just fine."

With a small blush on my face, I took Nine's hand and pulled myself to my feet.

I had no way to respond to this, so I silently nodded my head agnoliging his word. I jumped yet again when lanky arm were wrapped around my waist.

I peered over my shoulder to see Twelve's face smashed into my back, his soft hair tickling my neck. He turned his head up and gave me a creepy smile.

I can't imagine how he can be comfortable doing that.

My yellow shirt and light blue skirt were streaked with mud and blood, one side completely obviously soaked with blood, becoming crispy when it dried.

Nevertheless he continued to hug me with a big wide smile of his.

"Well, we know something now..." Twelve said letting go of me and standing besides me.

Nine and I gave him a confused look.

"What do you mean, Twelve?" asked Nine a bit annoyed.

"Well, last time I gave Lisa a scare, she fainted. But this time she just ran off. She's hardened her senses from hanging out with us."

I had to admit he was right.

I gave a shrug and Nine gave him a look.

Yup

And that was that...

Just us three idiots. Two of which, too smart for their own good, and you can't forget me. This was the start, this is the start, and we were going on an adventure of our own.
