Chapter 6

                                                                                       Protection 

My eyes broke open and I found myself sitting up on the bed I fell asleep on.  Emma ran over hugging me to calm myself down. 

"No no, this isn't real!" I cried out. 

"Honey calm down, this is real, you just had a nightmare." Emma said still holding me in her arms.  

"What ever you do you can't let him know where I am." I begged looking into her eyes. 

"Who Blaze?" she asked. 

"James....My alpha." I answered. 

Her eyes widened and she sniffed the air. I sniffed the air as well and the additive strong smell was by the closed door. 

Emma got up and ran out of the room. 

"Stop! You will only make things worse! Emma yelled at someone. 

"No man should get away with treating a woman like that!!!" his strong voice yelled back. 

"ZANE BLACK, you come here right now, I need you to help don't let your anger get the best of you!!" Emma yelled. 

After I was fully aware this wasn't a dream I realized that if I didn't act fast James will soon know where I was. 

"No!" I yelled running out of the room in the hallway where they were. 

"He can't know Im here! He will kill you and take me back! I can't go back!" I cried practically begging him. 

Then Zanes face grew worried like he just realized something bad causing him to back up. 

"Shit dad!!!" he yelled running off. 

Emma grabbed my hand and leads me back into my room. 

"Don't worry we will protect you, James won't find you." she said stroking my hair but I could tell she was also worried. 

(Zane's pov) 

Her scent was everywhere! I couldn't help but crave more of it though causing my inner wolf to go crazy. 

Ugh! I can't have a mate! It would only make me weak! Im a black wolf I shouldn't care about anything, I was a killer and my blue eyes showed that.  But I felt this strong need to protect this fragile girl. 

The sight of her bones poking out of her body and all the scars made me feel something Ive been trying to block out for awhile and there was no way I was going to let this girl ruin that! 

But one thing I needed to know was how she got like the way she is. Who would do that to a woman? 

I went to go find my mother finding her in the nurses room as always helping someone.  Sometimes I longed to be caring and gentle like her but I knew that would never be me. 

"Mom..." I called out catching her by surprise. 

"Oh! Yes Zane? you almost gave me a heart attack." she said. 

"I need to know mother, how did she get like that, the injury's should of healed?" I asked.  And no matter how much I tried to deny it I still thought that she wolf was the most beautiful person Ive seen. 

"She was badly abused and the injuries she faced did not get a chance to heal properly." she said sadness in her eyes. 

"Who did it? You must smell their scent on her you've met every wolf in this forest." I said.
