Now that I have finished eating the delightful breakfast Kami prepared for me, it's time for my daily academic courses in literature, ancient languages, and writing. Since I am only 20, I am still a university student and Father insists that I be homeschooled and taught by a myriad of private professors and tutors, chosen especially for me by learning professionals travelling to the Merveilles Castle from all across Europe and the Orient.

The Merveilles have always been known to place a high value on education, something in which Father had put an immense amount of pride. He paid meticulous attention to the levels of education of all the castle staff, making sure that they wouldn't leave a bad influence on me or change my motivation in academics.

I've always wondered what it would be like to socialize with others around my age, not including Kami, so today I will find out once and for all. I've decided to retreat from the world of luxury and riches and throw myself into the real world, to see what it's like.

At this point, whatever Father tells me is irrelevant. Whenever he's not home, I don't listen to him and, unfortunately, that's almost every day of the year.

All things aside, I make my way to the foyer where Kami awaits me with my coat in one hand and boots in the other, all ready for me to cross the castle's courtyard and make my way to the library. All of the courses are held there on the quotidian, with the only breaks being holidays. As a cause, I don't get that much time to myself, resulting in my constant state of stress and fatigue. This makes Kami worry to no end, causing me to constantly reassure him and let him know that I'm feeling alright.

"Merci, Kami! Je vais partir maintenant," I say, gently taking my items from his slender, gloved hands. (Translation: Thank you, Kami! I'm going to leave now.)

"Soyez prudente, Mademoiselle Claire. Je vais vous voir plus tard dans la journée!" He responds in a caring and genuinely concerned tone. (Translation: Be safe, Miss Claire. I'm going to see you later today!)

Oh, boy. How little Kami knows what I will do today. If any of the castle staff were to find out, I would be locked up in here for the rest of my life, thanks to my Father.
