 Blueberry donut

Five dug through the kitchen, exploring every nook and cranny like a desperate addict, though Alex couldn't blame him.

Neither of them had had a good night's sleep in three months. They couldn't just keep going like this, until their bodies gave up. But the next best thing to sleep was caffeine.

Alex wasn't much of a coffee guy, but he doubted the eccentric billionaire would have cans of red bull lying around, he'd take whatever he could get.

They had been joined by Klaus some time ago and when Allison entered the kitchen, she announced her arrival with a question, "Where's Vanya?"

"Oh" Klaus played with the guitar in his hands, though Alex had no idea where he got it from. He was also sitting in a chair sideways in a way one was definitely not meant to sit in a chair. Alex admired him even more for it, "She's gone"

"That's unfortunate" Five said as he stared at a can in his hands.

"Yeah"

"An entire square block. Forty-two bedrooms, nineteen bathrooms, but no, not a drop of coffee" He set the can on the table, and Alex could tell he was just going to get grumpier without caffeine.

"Dad hated caffeine" Allison reminded him.

"Well he hated children too, and he had plenty of us" Klaus looked about as shit Alex felt, but at least he was funny.

Five frowned deeper when he saw Alex laughing at his brother's joke. He seemed to debate something for a moment, "I'm taking the car, come on"

"What?" Alex raised an eyebrow, "You're not bossing me around, Sunshine"

"Alexander"

"I'm not going to do whatever you want" Alex glared at him, "Get a dog if you want that"

"Wait, where are you even going?" Klaus sat up straight and set down the electric guitar.

"To get a decent cup of coffee, and I'll even get you a can of redbull and some donuts" Five gave Alex a look.

"Okay, I'm sold"

"I thought that would be a bigger argument"

"You're promising me donuts and redbull, I'd kill for that" Alex shrugged, "I've killed for less"

"What?" Allison asked, though Five didn't give her time to respond.

"Do you even know how to drive?" Alex questioned Five, "Or do you need me cause your feet won't reach the pedals?"

"One more word and I'm feeding you to the pet dragon in the basement" Five vanished in a flash of blue light, not waiting for Alex or even offering to help him find the car he mentioned.

"I genuinely can't tell if he was kidding" Alex looked up at the two still in the kitchen. "Do you guys have a dragon in the basement?"

"Yeah" Klaus nodded very seriously, "His name is Fluffy, Vanya named him and we kind of went along with it, you know. He gets very lonely, I haven't seen him in years. He's probably really hungry"

"Klaus" Allison sighed and looked up when she heard the sound of an engine turning on right outside the kitchen.

"Fuck your brother" Alex mumbled, "How do I get out there? this place is a mess"

Allison gave him the instructions that led Alex out of the mazelike academy and onto the sidewalk where he watched Five struggle in the seat of an old fashioned black car. (Old fashioned by 2019 standards)
