"Fuck no", "I'd rather stop my own heart", "Five I will make you pee yourself if you make me wear that", "I am not touching that with a ten foot pole"

Were some of the things Alex had to say when offered clothes to put on, clothes that actually fit. He was drowning in the fabric of his old suit, but he'd rather trip over his own pants twenty times over than wear that god awful uniform Five was offering him.

"Plus, we're not even close to the same size" Alex argued.

"Don't kid yourself, you're two inches taller at best"

"Three and a half"

"Alexander"

"Sunshine" Alex gave him a shit eating grin.

"Alex" Five tried. It was impossible to make Alex do something if he didn't want to do it. Five had gotten to know that by now. The only reason he would do something was if Five got him to want to do it.

"Aw the nickname made a comeback"

"You can put on Klaus' uniform, it would fit you better" Five ignored the way Alex winked at him, "Although I think Klaus had more skirts than pants in his wardrobe so you might want to borrow some from Diego's closet"

"Your family seems..."

"Ready to explode at any moment?"

"I was going to say batshit crazy but sure, yeah" Alex shrugged as he watched Five pick out a uniform. He didn't seem that crazy about having to wear the clothes his teenage self used to wear. "The pretty one seemed nice, Allison. And the hot one in the skirt, do you think he's single?"

"Please don't call my brother hot"

"Oh but he was" Alex argued, "And a fifteen year old age difference is hardly anything when you're thirty and forty five"

"You look sixteen" Five reminded him, moving toward the bathroom. Alex moved behind him since he had no clue what to do.

"Well you look twelve, but I didn't mention that, did I?"

"We're both in our sixteen year old bodies, I do not look twelve" Five fumed as he stalked inside the bathroom. Alex loved winding him up.

"You're just so... tiny and adorable—"

Five shut the door in his face leaving Alex all alone in his bedroom.

If Five hadn't explicitly told him this was his room when he was a child, Alex would have guessed it anyway. Even when he wasn't a bitter old man, he seemed to have the same interests. There were no posters or personal belongings or objects or sentimental value. Just the bare necessities.

By no means was his room as bad and bare as Alex's cell in the bunker, but it wasn't much of an upgrade either. There was a wardrobe in one corner, a window connected to a fire escape, a bed small enough for Five and plain walls.

The bathroom was right outside Five's room and Alex had no doubt he'd take his time, trying to gather his thoughts. Five didn't like being wrong. He'd go over and over his mistake until he was sure he'd never make it again. He'd also be thinking about the apocalypse, and how he wanted to bring Alex to help him.

Alex on the other hand was digging his fingernails into his skin, a nervous habit he'd had since he was a teenager. He wasn't a planner or a leader, he never had been. He was impulsive and reckless and much to unpredictable for his own good.
