The next day Aleksi went to school and met up with his friends. They decided to go to the farm after school. The whole day there were no school fights. When the school bell rang the boys ran out the gates and down the street. They left the town and went past the other farms before they got to the gate of Adamik Farm and Aleksi opened the latch to let them in.

"Hello Aleksi," Mr Adamik said.

"Good afternoon grandpa," Aleksi replied.

"Good afternoon sir," Benjamin and Antoni said.

Mr Adamik tipped his hat and smiled. Antoni, Benjamin, and Aleksi went to the barn and sat down on the hay bails. Storm awoke and looked up at the three boys. He then wobbled over to Aleksi and pawed at his leg. Aleksi picked him up and handed him to Antoni who stroked his soft grey pelt.

"You know Storm fought off a bear?" Aleksi said.

"What? But he is only two months old! How did he survive?" Benjamin asked.

"The bear would have killed him, he is so small." Antoni said matter-of-factly.

"Well he bit the bear's paw, but he was thrown off. Luckily he did survive," said Aleksi.

"Maybe we can go hunting?" Antoni suggested.

"Yeah!" Benjamin leaped up.

The friends went outside with Storm and headed to the shed. In the shed Isaac was butchering a chicken. He looked over at the boys.

"Can we have some weapons to track something?" Aleksi asked.

"Sure, but be safe, don't hunt bears or cross the river okay?" Isaac said and grabbed a pistol and a slingshot. "What will you hunt?" he asked.

"Hares, martins, or rabbits. Whatever we find," Benjamin said.

"Alright, good hunting," Isaac said.

The boys and the wolf pup left the shed and went down to the river. Aleksi remembered the hare that lived by the river. So he and Storm crouched beside the hole and the little wolf pup scrambled inside. Aleksi quickly went to find another hole and held the pistol at the ready.

Minutes later a hare shot out and Alexi fired at it. While Storm climbed out of the hole. Benjamin and Antoni ran over to the hare and picked it up.

"We did it!" The boys cried happily.

Storm sniffed at the hare and wagged his tail.

"Good boy Storm," Aleksi gave the wolf the hare to eat.

"He'll have to learn to catch them himself one day," Antoni said.

"But only when he is older," said Aleksi.

"Guys look!" Benjamin exclaimed, pointing towards the river.

A deer was drinking from the stream. Her ears pricked and listening out for danger. The boys stayed quiet and watched until it left. Then they continued the hunt.

After an hour, Aleksi and his friends took Storm back and left him in the hay pile which was his bed. Mr Adamik gave all three boys half a dozen carrots, three eggs, and a loaf of bread before they left. Grateful, the boys thanked Mr Adamik and went back to town.

Before Aleksi went to his house he handed his friends a rabbit and a duck each. They thanked him and went into their building. Aleksi turned and went to his house. Satisfied with their successful hunt.
