2 years later!!

Aadhya's POV

"Ma'am!! There is an emergency delivery case of a young female" my junior doctor came running to me as I was checking up on a 3 month old pregnant female.

I am doing my post graduation from gynaecology and currently in second year. Generally I assist my senior doctors but last week I was honoured to conduct a delivery and it was successful with the birth of a beautiful baby girl.

"Take her to OT immediately!! I am coming there after getting ready" I said and excused myself from the patient I was checking on, assigning the latter to a colleague.

I quickly wore my scrub followed by gloves and shoe covers. I informed my senior doctor about the case and started operating her in case there is any need for her.  

It took us 2-3 hours for the surgery and by God's grace a baby boy was  born to her. She was kept under our supervision and transferred to the private ward.

I changed and as I saw my phone there were 5 missed calls from mom and 2 from dad!! I called dad first but my mom picked it and started lecturing me in worry.

"Beta!! Where are you? I told you that today someone was coming home for meeting you and you agreed too. We are waiting for you from an hour and they are still at home for you. Please beta!! At least meet this one guy I am sure you won't deny to this one. He is the lost suitable one for you. Please for me! At least meet him and talk to him. I can't see you sulking and doing nothing except working and sleeping like a robot"

"I will be there in half an hour, Mom"

I sighed as I know my mother is not going to back off easily so I finally told her that I will reach home soon. From the last few months she has been pestering me for marriage and each time I denied her.

When papa asked me to at least meet the man and if I denies then he won't force me so finally I agreed to prevent daily lecture and emotional blackmail.

I already denied for 6 marriage proposal. No!! Don't think of me as some best who rejected them I just met them and told them that I wasn't ready yet. Being considerate 4 of them denied for the proposal and the other two weren't ready so I rejected them.

I don't believe that I will ever get my love as we see in novels or movies so I didn't expected anything for me.

Once I tried and you all know what was the result. It took me a year almost to at least be myself and to be honest I don't think I am completely over it or him now.

I just don't want to marry now maybe in upcoming years I will eventually agree but for now I want to focus on myself. I will explain my parents too after rejecting today's proposal too.

I reached my home and as soon as I entered inside I stiffened looking at the man in front of me. I felt my eyes tearing up but I just gulped hard and removed my eyes from the same captivating eyes I dreamt almost every night.

He too stiffened but was looking at me with a longing look and eyes filled with tears. Ohh he must be shocked and cursing his luck that for marriage proposal his parents asked for my hand!!

No worries!! He will be happy after knowing that our feelings are mutual now I too don't want to marry him!

"Beta! Please freshen up and come quickly" mom said as I greeted his parents respectfully and they smiled looking at me. My father nodded at me and with a hard glare towards that man I went to my room.

I entered my room and after putting my white coat and stethoscope at its place I started changing my dress and freshened up fast as my mother was continuously nagging from the door.
