Aches and breaks

Behind that smile she hides a frown.

Behind her eyes she's looking down.

Through the skin, her bones ache.

She's worried one day that they might break.

One day she fell for a guy.

But he didn't treat her right.

He texted her, 'come back.'

She cried and on her wrist wear tacks.

At the end,

Her bones didn't ache.

Instead, she just let her heart break.
