I know Valentine's Day is over. But I still wanted to write this story. So here we are. :DD
--
It's Valentine's Day, but you kind of forgot it. Because since a week you were hunted by some sickness. That's why you've been lying in bed all week in the hope of getting better. But things don't look good at the moment.--
The sun was shining through your room directly onto you, which woke you up. For a brief moment it was nice because you were warmed up, which made it even cozier in your bed. But the more awake you became, the more your symptoms came back, which had been chasing you home for a week.
Your nose was so stuffy that you had to go through your mouth to catch your breath, when your sore throat was already making you feel how difficult life is. Even when you wanted to stay in bed, you threw off the covers and got up slowly.
When you slowly sat up, your head started to pound and you felt dizzy. Your horns hurt so much that you clutched them briefly in the hope of reducing the pain. Blindly, you reached for your bedside cabinet to grab the box of pills. With a sip from your water bottle, the tablets were already gone. "Bah... Sparkling water without sparkling water tastes disgusting..." you said to yourself as you sat on the edge of your bed waiting for the tablet to take effect.
The sun was still shining on your face and warming your cheeks, so you fell asleep again easily. After about 10 minutes, you felt yourself slowly getting better, feeling ready to get up properly. You put a hand over your eyes to open them properly because of the sun as you slowly walked from your bedroom to the bathroom. Your tail hung loosely behind you without any movement.
You were sure that even a granny would have reached the bathroom faster, but you were glad when you finally sat on the toilet. You sat there for another 20 minutes because you simply didn't have the strength to do anything.
A vibration from your cell phone came into your head.
Confused, you looked up when you saw your cell phone on the sink right next to you. Weakly, you reached for it as you tried to get your wild hair out of your face. Your vision wasn't really sharp yet, so you only roughly saw your wallpaper with Fire and you from your first date and a message from someone on WhatsApp.
After your face ID didn't recognize you, you unlocked your phone with your password. You wiped your face with your free hand when your vision was finally sharp enough to recognize everything on your phone.
Fire:
"Hey baby, Happy Valentine's Day. You have time later so I can come around?"Shit. Today is Valentine's Day. You were confused for a moment because you were sure it wasn't until next week. But when you briefly scrolled down your screen to see the date, it was clearly there. February 14th. "Fuck I'm sick for so long now. How can so many days have passed without me noticing?" you say to yourself again as you start to think about what you could say in response. You couldn't think about it for long either, because you've already read the message and he's online. Double fuck.
Since the first time you met, you wanted Fire to lie next to you in your bed every night while he held you in his arms and whispered in your ear how much he loved you. This dream of lying next to him every night and talking. The longing not to wake up alone or to be alone in the apartment. To always have someone you trust around you. This longing was particularly strong when you fell ill a week ago.
