If you keep an open mind, you can learn so much from the people around you

As I sit on the kitchens counter, deep in focus on braiding my hair, a pair of familiar footsteps descend from the hallway. "Who's funeral?" A deep voice teases, gesturing towards my black crop top with my favorite pair of black ripped jeans.

Under, over, under, over

"I haven't decided yet," I finally reply as i put the second ponytail in for my double french braid. Blake stops in front of me and plays with my newly done hair.

I scowl and he grins, kissing my forehead. "What are your plans today, babe?" Blake asks in before kissing me, tugging at my bottom lip with his teeth.

"Down boy," I purr, trying really hard to pretend to be mad. "As for your previous question," i yawn dramatically and grab my head. "My head hurts too much to get out of bed." I say in a pouty voice.

Blake rolls his eyes, unable to hide his grin. "Right. Let me guess, Bekah skipped school?"

"Mr. Hansen, are you insinuating that I would only skip school if my best friend, your sister, is skipping? How insulting!" I slap a hand against my chest and scoff dramatically.

I peak my eye open before sighing in defeat, "Bekah texted me last night and told me she didnt feel up to it."

Blake kisses me once more before turning towards the fridge. "Whats been going on with her, flower?"

I stare at Blake, trying to process what the hell my boyfriend just asked me.

Its only been two weeks since i found out Bekah had a miscarriage and she hasn't even told me who the baby daddy is.

"Lillian?" Blake after after a too long of a moment of silence. I snap out of it and glare, Blake knows how much i hate being called Lillian.

I can't tell Blake everything, its Bekah's secrets to tell: not mine.

But he's my boyfriend, one of my best friends. I tell him everything.

But-

I shake my head slightly, my gaze falling to my hands. "Blake-"

"Please don't lie to me. I know something is going on with Rebekkah, i feel it. And i know she's your best friend, you two would do anything for each other."

I go to speak once more but Blake shakes his head. "I know if Bekah asked you to take something to the grave, you would honor her words. I love that about you."

Blake clears his throat. "Please, Lily."

I take a deep breath and raise my head high, refusing to back down from the loyalty i owe the two siblings.

"I won't lie to you, Blake." I swallow thickly. "There's some shit Bekah is going through but it's not my place to say what. When Bekah is ready, I promise you, you'll be the first person Bekah comes to."

A look of gratitude and frustration crosses Blakes features but he chooses to settle with a polite nod of understanding.

I hop off the counter and trail my fingers up his biceps, making soft predictable patterns as i lean close and capture his lips with mine.

Blake doesn't hesitate to react, pinning me against the wall in a swift motion. I wrap my legs around him, needing to be closer, to feel him.

My hands dig into his hair as his free hand caresses my throat, applying enough pressure to stagger my breathing but not fully deprive me of oxygen.
