The house was silent, and I dragged myself up the steps into my bedroom, and hoisted myself up on my bed with a small huff.  I pulled the comforter up towards my chin, and took a breath in. I wondered why Peter was so short with me about his reason for being here. That being said, I wouldn't want to tell a nosy highschool girl either.

The sun had begun to set outside of my window, and it was finally brought to my attention how long I had slept for. I realized my parents hadn't even noticed I was gone. They never did. I was an only child, and both of my parents worked in business, and were constantly gone for work. I had to learn quickly how to take care of myself. When I opened the door, it was a roulette of whether or not I would be accompanied by my own parents most of the time. I finally stopped asking when they were coming back or even where they were. It didn't matter to me anymore.
