Lani was in her room looking for something to wear "EVE!!' she yelled for her sister and eve came upstairs to lanis room. as she walked in she stopped mid way seeing all the clothes on the floor and bed "what the hell lani?" she said looking at lani in a towel still going through her clothes
"I need help finding an outfit please help" lani begged her sister. eve looked at the outfits laying around the room until she spotted one that she thought was perfect for her "how about this" eve held up a tied dye tube top and some dark colored jeans
"I like it" she grabbed them from her sister and walked to the bathroom, she changed fast and she started doing her makeup and hair. she kept it it simple before she looked at herself one last time then walked out the bathroom
"how do I look?" she said to her sister and brother who was now in her room, they both looked up at her "you look beautiful" eve said with a cheesy smile "I don't like that you're showing a lot of skin but you're beautiful sis" her brother said while rolling his eyes
"whatever" she laugh at her brother as she picked her phone up and noticed the time was 7:30. "shit I have to go! dont wait up!" she grabbed her phone and purse then walked downstairs and out the front door to her car where she got in, started it up and drove to lewis' house.
25 MINUTE LATER
lani pulled into lewis' driveway and pulled her phone out, she texted him she was here and after 5 minutes she saw his door open and he walked around to the passenger door, opened it and got in "hey" she said shyly "hey how you feeling?" he immediately asked her
lani was surprised but she answered "im fine thank you for asking how are you?" she said simply changing the subject "im good.... so what is the plan?" he asked curiously lani had planned a night out in the city at first but Lexi told her lewis isn't that type of guy
she realized that she had to figure something else out and eve gave her an idea of going to the museum of art and history and Lexi told lani how big of a history freak lewis was so she thought he might like this
"I can't tell you, it's a surprise" she said looking ahead, she could see him smiling out of the corner of her eye. "you can't even give me a hint?" he chuckled a little, she shook her no at him because she didnt want him to figure it out just yet.
she planned this night out perfectly, she rented out the place so he didnt have to have his guard up "just know you'll love it! well.... I hope you will, I put a lot thought into this date" he turned his head to her shocked at the word date
he didnt want to assume this was a date but now hearing it out her mouth, he was happy. she noticed him staring at her smiling "do I have something on my face?" she pulled the sun-visor down to check her reflection
"no no you're beautiful but its nothing" he said with a smile, the conversation died down and lani paid attention to the road while smiling .she turned into the museums parking garage "the history museum...how did you know?" he was shocked she knew he loved history
"its a secret" she winked at him. they got out of the car and met the boss "and you must be mrs Hamilton and this must be the husband, welcome the museum of art and history." lani was gonna correct the guy, but lewis stopped her before she could
"thank you for having us" he said with a smile and he looked at her "follow me" she looked at lewis before following him, they walked through some doors before making it inside the actual museum "I will leave you guys alone, if you need me I will be in the security office" he said as he walked away
lewis and lani looked at each other and laughed "come on" she said as they walked around the museum "why did you want to be a racer?" she asked looking at him "I picked up a little race car and ever since then ive been into racing, its just the excitement of taking it apart and figuring out how it works and figuring ways to make it go fast" he said
"what about you? what made you want to be a producer?" he asked, lani was confused but realize she told him she was a producer "growing up, I didnt have much in my life but my music, music helped me a lot" she said looking at him "when I had a bad day or just problems with my mom I would play something and my worries washed away"
lanis passion for music was everything to her, she felt anytime something went wrong in her life all she had to do was put it in a song and thats what she did "making beats was just something that helped me cope with the misery I had to go through"
he looked at her understanding what she meant "so music is an escape for you?" she nodded her at him "yeah its my safe place when everything around me is falling apart, I know my music will be there to help out" lewis nodded his head
"my mother is a big part of me wanting to do music" she said truthfully "she was always singing around the house and dancing and just living life" she said turning towards him "she inspired you to be who you are now" he said looking at her
"yeah something like that" as they walked around the museum, they found a door that led them to a balcony that over looks the ocean. they walked closer and lani looked up at the moon, she was amazed at how beautiful it looked
it remind her of a time with her mother "my mother used to sing every time underneath the moonlight, thats also a reason why I love music so much" she said honestly. Lani's mother was a big part on why she wanted to be a singer
she would sing to her every time for a year before she up and left and lani kept that memory in her heart. lewis looked at lani and noticed the tear fall from her eyes, he wiped it away "sometimes I blame myself for how she turned out" she looked at lewis with more tears coming down
"I felt I was the reason she left, I thought was so bad that she didnt want me anymore" lani said to him "I blamed myself for everything that went wrong in her life on me" he stepped closer and wiped more tears away "you know what that does to a child growing up thinking you're the reason your parent left?" he pulled her into a hug and let her cry
he felt she needed to just cry everything she was holding in out. there was a lot of pain and guilt and he knew she needed this "im sorry, im ruining our first date" she pulled away wiping her eyes "no, no you're not. I'm getting to know you more and seeing you at vulnerable time will always be a plus for me" he said looking lani in her eyes
they slowly started moving closer to each other just inches away from each other lips. they were about to kiss before hearing someone clear their throat "you can't be in here" both lani and lewis looked at the guard and back at each other "sorry" they both said before walking back inside.
