The reincarnation system proposed a solution to help Wei Wei hide the gold underground and bury it herself, ensuring that the treasure location would belong to her. Additionally, the system could hide other items along with the gold.
Wei Wei found this idea promising, but she realized that executing it would take time, especially since she hadn't resolved her identity issue yet. She wondered if the kind-hearted Count could assist her.
Contemplating her possessions, Wei Wei felt that some items were unnecessary. She asked the system if they could be recycled.
The system confirmed that it could recycle these items, as they were created from the energy it consumed. Recycling them would convert them back into energy, although there would be some loss.
"Then recycle these foods and medicines, leaving only some plates and medicine bottles for me," Wei Wei instructed.
The foods and medicines were no longer effective; while they could temporarily fill her stomach, they couldn't be stored for long. The medicines had lost their potency and could only be used as water. Recycling them was a more practical option.
The system happily recycled the items as requested and left Wei Wei with two sets of Western tableware, including knives, forks, spoons, and even a pair of chopsticks, along with a hundred small medicine bottles. Interestingly, the tableware and medicine bottles were made of blue and white porcelain, each piece exquisite and valuable.
After these changes, the system mysteriously added, "[You will thank me in the future.]"
"I thank you very much now," Wei Wei responded, impressed by the system's thoughtfulness. Although she wasn't well-versed in medieval Europe, she vaguely knew that people in the early Middle Ages often ate with their hands, which she found unacceptable. With the system's preparation, she now had utensils like knives, forks, spoons, and even chopsticks to use.
Wei Wei neatly placed the utensils and chopsticks into the long wooden box provided by the system, which would come in handy during meals.
After organizing her inventory, Wei Wei removed her long skirt and headgear, settling into bed for a nap. She had faced death, crossed worlds, spent most of the day in the woods, and ridden a horse extensively. Despite her good physical condition, she was mentally and physically exhausted.
Wei Wei contemplated taking a shower before bed, but the lack of a water heater and the rudimentary toilet in her room made it impractical. The toilet was a simple hole in the ground with a passage leading to the moat below, covered by a wooden board to prevent odors.
The toilet chair in her room had a hollowed-out center, similar to those used by patients and the elderly in later generations, but it lacked any other amenities.
Wei Wei decided against asking the maids for hot water, considering the hassle involved, and opted to rest instead.
She soon fell asleep, and a knock on the door woke her up at an unknown time.
In a daze, Wei Wei called out, "Who is it?"
"Dear guest, may we come in?" It was the maid's voice.
Wei Wei looked at her attire—a plain white embroidered apron and trousers under her chest-length skirt from the game. The apron was backless, and the trousers were longer than typical summer shorts. In later generations, daring young ladies might even go out dressed like this.
Wei Wei quickly corrected her attire, saying, "Wait," and put on the Ru skirt again.
She was relieved that the reincarnation system had given her common sense in dressing when she changed bodies; otherwise, Wei Wei would have been quite embarrassed.
