I am adopted?

Katie was found when she was 3 years old, no one knew where she came from, but she was outside and took her in, a Mexican family found her out there, and since then, they legally adopted her as Kate Zazueta, she has always been daddy's girl, but with her mom was like a nightmare, every birthday she wishes to go out of her house with her dad, or that one day he will notice how her mother threatens to her mildest child, who hasn't done anything wrong to deserve it. Every day in her room asks herself why she has a mom who makes her unhappy instead of being loved, always the opposite and her siblings didn't help, her brother always annoyed her and blamed her for fun, and her little sister didn't even know what was happening she was 2 years old until she died in a accident.

"WAKE UP YOU'RE GOING LATE," says her oldest brother, she wakes up and gets ready for school, she hates school, and wearing her uniform every day for school, she wishes to go and study in the United States, the classes would be easier, she goes into the car and went to her classroom late.
Gratefully for her, it was a free hour, the teacher didn't come, she didn't have any friends right there, she was more of a person studying until the principal came in.
"Good morning students," she said and everyone replied with the same words.
"Well I have an announcement to say, taking time while your professor comes, we're doing an exchange to students of the United States for a better chance, it doesn't matter if you don't know any English at all, this paper we will give you  all the information and it's for everyone, but you have to have good grades, the school is a private school located in Los Angeles, and it would be better if you were born in the United States," the principal said while the paper come to the students hand, Katie was decided to sign up, the application was in a week, so she has time to tell her parents.

Scarlett at home

Scarlett was In a breakdown where she didn't even want to go up, in 3 months will be her daughter's birthday and she didn't even know where is she, her oldest daughter wasn't with her, right now they should be watching some TV shows and laughs with her teenage daughter, but she's not there, at least not with her.
"Scarlett honey, you have to get up, I drove Rose to school, and I was playing with Cosmo, Colin went to work today, you want anything, honey?" Her mom said. Sadly she didn't even have an answer from her daughter, every year for the last 15 years she's been like that when her daughter's birthday was coming, sobbing in tears by herself, she kept a teddy that her daughter used to use when she was a baby.
"Honey please answer me," her mom says once again, worried about her daughter, she hasn't eaten anything in the whole day, and the sun was about to leave and come to the moon.
"It's just not fair, how could a mom, deserve this, did I say something wrong that the universe decided to punish me by taking her away?" It was the only thing Scarlett said until she fell asleep again.
"How are my babies" says a happy Colin waving to his children, Colin was having fun until he saw his mother-in-law, by her face, he could guess what was going on, and he decided to go with her.
"How's she doing" Colin asks his mother-in-law
"She hasn't eaten anything, I tried the whole day, her birthday is coming that's why" she replied
"I'll see her, thanks for everything," he said and went inside. "Scarlett, you have to eat something babe, this is not healthy," Colin says and Scarlett only looks at him with nothing just staring at him. "I want to be alone Colin" That was the last thing she said in the whole day, Colin made soup for her wife and forced her to eat, at least was something, and then finally, she fall asleep again.
At Katie's home
it's a Saturday and she waited the whole day until the time to eat dinner at 8:00 pm, practicing herself to be able to say what she wanted to do, a big opportunity for her was coming, she had nothing to lose in the school, it was time for dinner, everyone is eating and she was getting more nervous about what she was going to make, everyone finished the food and it was time, scared and happy at the same time.
"I want to say something, if you may allow me Mom" Katie says, her dad taking a weird look at what just her girl says "Allow me," he thought in his mind.

"Just if it's not that relevant, remember we have to take care of your father" she said
"In my class, the principal came and they're doing  an exchange of school to L.A, I want to try it, it's a better opportunity for me and us, and more, it's a private school, the principal says it would be better if I was born there, but I'm not so I just want to try it," Katie says, nervous for her moms face, and the other hand, her dad with a face very proud of her girl. " that's wonderful Kate, you should apply, and if you win or not, we're going to be proud of you," her dad says and her mom a look of disgusting by the word "us"
" you better win" was the only thing her mother said
Katie started doing her application to the private school, she was so happy until she heard her mom, mad at her again for no reason " KATIE ZAZUETA YOU ARE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE " she said, Katie didn't understand why she was mad at her, she was scared.
" WHY DIDN'T YOU WASH THE DISHES AND CLEAN EVERYTHING, AND WITH THAT YOU WANNA LEAVE? I SHOULD'VE THINK ABOUT YOUR ADOPTION " Katie was shaken, she didn't listen to the other, or it wasn't relevant but in the part where she was adopted,

" I am adopted?"

"Does it matter?"

2 weeks later

Katie already submitted her application for her private school, but she can't forget what her mom told her, some part of her was happy, and the other part was scared.

Flashback

If you got accepted good for me!  I won't see you in a while... You know what? if you got accepted forget we are your family... I do not want to see your horrible face around my house before you came I had everything... but thanks to you MY ONLY DAUGHTER IS DEAD! and it's your fault...  I don't care how you will survive there don't you ever think we will give you money or something like that, you leave and you will be on your own. *end of flashback*

Katie decided if she got accepted she would leave this place of hell, in school was doing great, and everyone have faith in her that she would be accepted.
