Kelly walked in
Kelly: how is he?
I laid Rueben down and walked into the kitchen with kelly following me and shut the door.
Benny: what the hell happened yesterday?
Kelly: he got into a fight and the cops bought him to the firehouse saying that if he doesn't control his anger he'll basically be in frequent trouble with the cops. I lost it with him dad. I said some things but I didn't mean them.
Benny: what did you say?
Kelly: I said how its always never his fault and he's never to blame. I said why can't you just be normal and not get in trouble. and said no wonder you're barely home. He snapped and started saying he hated me and I never hear him out. He said his mom would've believe him and I replied with well your moms not fucking here is she
Benny: damn it kelly. Why the hell would you say that?
Kelly: I weren't thinking. The call went to shit. Andy died. Me and Matt are clashing heads. The cops telling me about Rueben anger issues like we don't always know. Everything just got too much and I snapped.
Benny: What else happened cause that alone wouldn't have cause what happened yesterday?
Kelly: he found out that Andy died and got pissed at me for not telling him. What happened?
Benny: he was in such a rage that he had a massive meltdown and outburst. He smashed up his room and punched the mirror. When I went in he was squeezing a piece of glass in his hand. When I looked into his eyes it was like there was no one there. He didn't say a word either. You need to make up with him.
Kelly: shit I know. Where's Dominique?
Benny: out. I'm checking her into rehab tomorrow.
Kelly: I've got the day off so can I hang out here. I need to make it up to him.
Benny: he's not gonna forgive you quickly. You know how he is. I'm still regaining his trust and forgiveness for leaving 5 years ago
Kelly: I think I've lost him dad. What I said was really hurtful and if someone said that to me I wouldn't forgive them

We were just talking when there was banging on the door.
Dominique: Dad. Dad I need some money please. Dad give me some money
Kelly: what the hell?
Benny: you wouldn't know would you. You just just bury your head in the sand. You don't care about anything but your job. You wouldn't give us a second thought. You'll always pick your job over family
Kelly: well who does that remind you of huh? I guess when your young and your dad does it over and over again it becomes the only thing you know. So maybe take a look in the mirror before you start judging me
Dominique: Dad! I know your home! Please just help me out.
She started banging on the door but harder this time that it startled Rueben awake.
Rueben: No no no. Too loud. hurt me
Benny: no one's gonna hurt you bud

Benny: hey calm down. Kelly go and let her in
Kelly went and let her in
Kelly: Dom what the hell do you think your doing?
Dominique: kelly your here. I missed you
Kelly: Dom what have you taken?
Dominique: oh you know just a few pills, a little coke and some weed
She started slurring her words a little and stumbling

Reuben got up and started pacing while fiddling with his hands

He was pacing and bumped into Dominique and she snapped and pinned him up against the wall then hit him

He ran off and Kelly went to go after him.
Benny: let him cool down.
Kelly: I'm going after him

She started crying
Dominique: I don't want to be like this dad. It just makes everything go away. I need help dad. Please help me
Benny: I've booked you in for rehab. I'll drive you down tonight okay?
Dominique: I'm scared dad
Benny: hey it's okay. Everything will be okay. You'll get clean. We'll find you a school. We'll get everything back on track.
Dominique: I'm sorry dad. I'm sorry for everything.
She fell into my arms crying
Dominique: I don't want to be like this anymore.

I ran to get the sick bowl and she threw up. Her eyes started fluttering.
Benny: hey sweetie I need you to stay awake for me
Dominique: daddy I'm tired
Benny: No don't fall asleep on me.
She passed out and her breathing was gradually decreasing
Benny: shit
I ran into the kitchen and started rummaging through the drawer. I found the narcan. I ran back downstairs and gave it to her. After a few minutes she slowly began to wake up.
Dominique: dad?
Benny: hey I'm here okay. We're going to get you checked in the hospital
Dominique: don't
Benny: you need to go
Dominique: I'm going to rehab anyway. I'll get checked out there.

Kelly: Reuben! Rueben!
Reuben: leave me alone
Kelly: talk to me

He ran off and I went after him. He ran to the firehouse and into Kelly's quarters. There was a box on his desk with a note.
To trouble,
I know we made a promise but I know deep down you'd try your best. No matter what trouble you got into or the amount of ticks on your report card, I got you the Lego kit. I'm proud of you kiddo. Always do your best. I know some times it can be hard but I know you will never let it get to you.

He started throwing everything off of Kelly's desk and punching the walls. Kelly followed the sound of crashing and screams of frustration. He ran behind him and restrained him so he couldn't do more damage.
Kelly: calm down for me okay

Reuben: what's there to talk about my sisters a druggie, my moms dead and my dad leaves wherever he feels like it and comes back acting like nothing happened.
Kelly: listen I'm sorry about what I said at the firehouse. It was just with Andy dying and everything I just lost my temper. I didn't mean to upset or hurt you.
Reuben: it's whatever I'm used to it by now. Everyone has disappointed or hurt me at sone point so why think you'd be any different.
