Chapter 3

Yesterday was an exhausting day. Investigating a large area with Kokomi and going to the library afterwards, ending up in sleeping late, made you really tired. Kokomi and you stayed in a shattered habitable temple for the night, since it was the nearest stop from the library.

You awoke to the sound of gentle singing beside you.

"Please... wake up, Y/N. It's me, Kokomi.", the owner of the voice kept using her voice, hoping that you would answer.

That voice belonged to Kokomi, just as she said. She had brought you here from the library, as it was the place she suggested.

"Huh...?", you got up from your sleeping position, and guided your eyes to her.

She hummed and walked around, softly danced, until she almost finished her song.

As you walked up to her, Kokomi looked behind her to see you. She was a bit startled.

"What's the matter? Is something wrong?", you asked her, half-asleep while scratching your head.

"I-it's... nothing...", she seemed to be controlling her thoughts. Her face was softening.

"What happened?", you asked her. "I'm sorry for scaring you."

Kokomi, who had woken up before you, had been dancing and singing after having walked around for a while, forgetting you were sleeping.

"It's alright", she said, as she was no longer startled. "I was just singing... I thought I wasn't that loud..."

"But it is true that I was calling you, sorry." That sentence is what made you fully wake up.

"There's no need for explanations. I only woke up, it isn't a big deal. I had to either way, and it was pleasant to wake up like this", you said, and then she started walking towards you.

"H-hey, wait!", you tried telling her.

"What's the problem...?", she said, as she held up your chin with two of her fingers.

She gave you a quick peck and smiled at you. You were used to this kind of treatment, so it was nothing to blush over.

"We should take some free time today. I don't think we should spend all day working, especially since we're not in a hurry." Kokomi stated. "So, let's just relax."

"Alright ", you smiled.

"Say, shall I take you on a date today?", she asked, with a pure smile.

"Yes", you answered, smiling back with pride.

"Let's go", she took you by the hand. She was walking rather happily.

She took you to a place near the library: some beautiful waterfalls that had the purest water. When the place was in sight, she let go of your hand and ran towards the water in the pool below the waterfall.
