"Class! Silence!" The teacher's loud voice erupts in the classroom creating a dead silence as he walks toward his desk. I straightened my posture to pay attention to whatever he was going to say. "Now that it has been a while of studying individually, all of you are going to work on a small project as a group," he said raising his eyebrows and checking if everyone had paid attention to his statement.
Everyone cheered in happiness and smiling as they started talking and walking to their friend. "Yes! Nadia, you already know who you're with right?" Rosie asked me as I chuckled nodding my head before the teacher erased our excitement, "But! I'll choose your partner whether you'll like it or not. It's about unification and taking full to responsibility. The work I'm going to give you depends on you if you'll do it good or bad."
Everyone stayed quiet in their seat, glaring at him and puckering their lips in ignorance but he had a point. "The future is in your hand, how you'll treat to it is how it'll be. So I hope you'll be smart enough to not whine and rant about it," he finished with a tsk and took out the paper from his bag. Rosie sighed softly while I patted her shoulder.
"It's ok, let's just do it our best. I think he is right about what he just said, let's be rational," I whispered to her ear to not get caught and assure my best friend. Rosie rolled her eyes pouting her lips before whispering back, "But what if I'll get a partner who is totally retard and weirdo? Just by imagining scares me." I held my snort inside and smiled at her vulnerable state. I squeezed her shoulder to not be dramatic.
"Alright class, I'll call out the name and you'll come here in front of me to choose the topic for your project, " he said tapping his stick and soon he was calling out the name. I looked beside me seeing Rosie praying her hand and whispering as if she was at a haunted place. I shook my head at how dramatic she was. It's just project work.
"Rosie and Jake," he called out their name as Rosie sighed in relief and collapsed on her desk. "Rosie get up before he scolds you," I whispered in her ears before she got up and smiled at Jake. They started looking at the paper on the desk to choose before coming back to their seat. Wait, I'm the last and so are Sunghoon. "And lastly, Sunghoon and Nadia," he called out our name as I stiffened in my place.
I hope he will put some effort into work as well, if not, then oh boy I'm going to be on the murderer list. We walked toward to teacher's desk and roamed our eyes until it caught our attention, more like mine as he was looking anywhere but on the paper. I chose "Anatomy" and went back to my seat. "What did you choose?" Rosie asked me as I showed her my paper. "Eh? Why so hard one?"
"Maybe because the other took the easiest one leaving me with the hardest one?" I reversed psychology on her as she shut her mouth close. "Alright, the expiration will be a week which means you'll present in front of the class next week," Mr.Vozenilek, isn't a week too short?" Some boy whined to a teacher who was ready for this. Whine to cancel.
"I'm not going to cancel this project work! You don't have to make long presentations, just small, clear, and simple. What else you got to whine for?" Mr.Vozenilek scolded at the boy who had lowered his head and noticed him rolling his eyes in menacing. "But teacher, the school has barely started and my brain hasn't developed yet.." the girl asked with puppy eyes.
I scoffed at them, it had been a month. "Listen, young lady, if you don't like to study then why are you here? You're 18, aren't you? You have a right to make a decision and go to work already," Mr.Vozenilek tapped his stick at her desk as I pressed my lips tight agreeing with him. I would rather study until my soul bleeds to live a normal life than sleep on the street.
"Well class, looks like all of you seem to hate project work. I wonder what would you do if you had to take an exam this year? Whining won't get your work done just like that," he said roaming his fox eyes around the class targeting one student to scold. "Soon you'll be 18 and yet you can't do nothing but whine? You better mature yourself in the future."
Mr.Vozenilek left the classroom while shaking his head. "Woah, I almost swung my arms at him," Rosie said glaring at Mr. Vozenilek's back. I looked at her with many thoughts in my head. If he were soft instead of rude then what would class be like? I smiled at her before looking at Sunghoon who was scrolling his phone with his leg over his thigh. "I have other stuff to worry about," I said with a defeated tone.

"Sunghoon!" I yelled his name while running toward him in the hallway. He was walking unbothered with a blank on his face. "Sunghoon wait!" I said standing in front of him while panting. The school is over letting us go home but I had to plan with Sunghoon for project work. "Where will we work on our project?" I asked him as he looked at me with an annoyed expression.
"I don't know and I don't care," he said bumping my shoulder with his shoulder leaving me alone. I frowned in dumbfounded laughter and inhaled deep in my lungs before I fast walked to him standing in front of him again. "Look, we have to do this project no matter what are we. It's on mark by the way," I said as he replied, "and?" That left me in a disbelief state.
"Sunghoon! You can't do this, don't you have a dream for the future?" I asked him with frowned eyebrows as he walked while I tried to match with his pace. "No," he replied in an indifferent tone. Right, what can I expect from him? "Please?" I begged him standing in front of him not letting me go home. I hate begging but my future means a lot to me. He bored in my eyes before sighing.
"At my place, xx," he left but faster to leave and never see me again. I scoffed feeling ashamed of who is my partner. I took out my phone and opened my note app as I wrote his location of address before my brain decided to wipe out when I needed it. Sometimes my brain remembers ridiculous useless memories but useful memories. "Nadia!" Someone snapped out of my mind with high high-pitched voice.
"Oh Rosie, what's up?" I asked her folding my arms. She hugged my arms before walking out of school, "I can't believe I got lucky with my partner," she said smiling to eyes as I envied her. "Yeah, lucky mf," I said in a sad tone. Rosie gave me a look 'What's wrong?' "Apparently Sunghoon doesn't want to put the effort in the project let alone care about his mark." I walked like a zombie as Rosie laughed at me.
"Oh come on, but hey Sunghoon isn't that bad, he just has some issues he needs to fix," Rosie said leaving me nodding my head in sarcasm. "Yeah sure," I smiled at her with a fake smile. "Be patient with him," she said as I squinted my eyes at her," Mhmm...Weren't you the one who dramatically prayed to God to not be partnered with someone else but Jake? You're the one who needs to have patience."
Rosie hit my arms causing me to grunt in pain as she ran away to her boyfriend, "Hey babe!" Rosie said pecking his lips who sat on motorcycle with helmet on his hand. "Ahh my cherry," he snaked his hand on her waist before I turned away from them to protect my eyes. "I'm going home, bye," I said waving my hand and leaving on my way.
"These two lovebirds istg," I muttered under my breath. I looked at the sky where the orange color are painted on the sky with a hint of pink hue on it. What is even better when there is an airplane cloud line finishing the art. "So beautiful."
