Helldivers: Battle For Malevelon Creek (Series Of Short Stories)

Short Story 2

The rain poured down on Malevelon Creek, a jungle-like planet where the trees were so thick that the sun barely pierced through, even during the day. At night, the darkness was all consuming and the rain didn't help. But for Helldivers, this was just another mission.

Xeno, Helldiver in black and red armor, led his squad of three other Helldivers - Dark in black and green armor, Shadow in black and purple armor, and Dusk in white and black armor. They were the best of the best, trained to fight the invasion of robots known as Automatons.

Their drop pod landed with a thud, sending the ground vibrating beneath them. As they emerged, the rain greeted them along with the familiar smell of burnt metal and the craters from artillery. But this time, something was different. The Automatons were stronger and more numerous than ever before.

Xeno and his squad fought bravely, taking out as many Automatons as they could, but they were outnumbered and outmatched. Dusk was the first to fall, his white and black armor now stained with mud and blood. Shadow and Dark fought side by side, their weapons blazing, but they too were eventually gunned down.

Xeno felt a moment of panic as he saw his best friend Dark being struck by artillery beside him. In that moment, he knew they couldn't win this fight. He made the tough decision to exfil, leaving behind the bodies of his fallen comrades.

As he ran through the dense jungle, his mind raced with memories of his fallen squadmates and his training. He knew that this was the harsh reality of being a Helldiver - sometimes you had to leave your comrades behind in order to survive and continue the fight.

Reaching the designated extraction point, Xeno collapsed on the ground, panting heavily. But his relief was short-lived when he realized he was the only one to make it back. Tears stung his eyes as he watched his drop pod fly away, leaving behind his fallen squadmates and the mission they couldn't complete.


But Xeno knew one thing for sure - he would continue to fight and honor the memory of his squad. He would make sure their sacrifices were not in vain. And as he looked up at the stormy sky, he vowed to push back the Automaton invasion and avenge his fallen comrades.
